How can we rank up or even have a chance to rank if the system basically matches you with literally the 10-12 player that actually que to ranked with your rank/rating limit? like in what sense this matching system is operating just shuffling the limited amount of players to fight each other literally almost every match, and sometimes you win and mostly lose because they are the same people trying to rank up as you do, is this because the CC mode is literally dead and hardly anyone bothers with it? and my god when those 10 players you always match up with aren't queuing the game que you with literally lower rank than your range like I was even playing with bronze while at gold/plat?

I've noticed that this season, it seems like everyone in diamond forgot how to focus targets... ending up switching over to DPS because having good CC is useless if the team can't/won't capitalize on it.

It's not. It's *incredibly* easy to reach Crystal if you are at all consistent and competent. Yeah, you'll get bad teammates but the common denominator is you. If you're still in Bronze after a hundred games... hate to say it, bud, but it's because you're Bronze.

I think ranked is pretty dead (at least in Crystal) because it's patch lull, people are tired of the content, no rewards, at this point I'd be surprised if anyone has any morale left to keep them trying at a higher rank, the Maldstone rewards aren't that great as most of the wolf collar weapons aren't anything amazing except maybe the WAR weapon. There's a buttload of problems with matchmaking (as you've mentioned), the downsides of it being FFXIV PvP, and the fact that the three maps we have now are well and done.

Casual is popping off though. I like being able to practice new jobs without pressure of Ranked. Plus win or lose, it's so one sided, it ridiculous. The match results and stats at the end are so outlandishly horrible it gets a good laugh out of me every time.

(I'm also in Tokyo timezone so I'm definitely not at active hours most of the time.)

I witnessed that on someone's stream. Everyone was in Crystal rank except for one Gold. Very weird since they said they changed MM so Crystal players would be matched with Diamond 3s at the lowest.

Didn't someone post the achievements from season 1 and like 50% of players got Crystal with rest being like 10% splits?

At least Light is fairly active in both Casual and Ranked.
