    Revert summoner to 5.55 while re-reworking it please?

    Summoner has gone from having roughly middling job satisfaction in the 5.x series of patches to being one of the least liked both by its mains and people who play it as a secondary job*. Obviously this is less than ideal.

    People who like the rework dislike that it doesn't go far enough - no leviathan, shiva nor ramuh - and those that dislike it are generally upset about a solid job being axed in favour of a simplified healer rotation, lack of room for further development and overall complete lack of substance.

    It alos appears that summoner's frequency of use largely stems from its aesthetics or "as long as you have hands" gameplay.

    Could Summoner be reverted to its 5.55 state while it is examined again?

    +1 I agree, while summoners toolkit was bloated and the rotation "could" have been described as too unforgiving and long, taking everything that made the job what it was and getting rid of it in favour of a system where you press a single button 90% of the time was not the way to go. There is practically 0 skill expression in the new build, and it feels very unsatisfying to play. Maybe in future updates as more gets added to it, itll become better but I'd rather they kept the DoT gameplay. I much preferred that.

    Obviously the new summons are cool, it's a shame that discussions within XIV are a 0 sum game. You either have X or Y. Complex or easy. Why not both? Why not keep the dots and rework how the summons functioned? Instead of taking a tactical nuke to the job and blowing it up. I've yet to meet a pre-6.0 summoner main who likes these changes. The only people I see who like them are the ones who picked the job up after Endwalker came out.

    While im not entirely happy with the rework, i honestly dont think its viable to just restore the 5.55 version... do we even have confirmation that they are looking at it again?

    I've mained SMN since arr beta and i like the idea behidn the rework, just not its implementation - it is a good foundation just needs more. I am very happy dots got ditched purely because the previous smn was a hodgepodge of systems that worked on their own but were terrible together.

    if you "revert" it what do you do for level 81-90 skills? they had said before that they felt they had hit the skill wall ceiling and couldn't add to it anymore at that point. hence the rework.

    Nothing from 81-90 is preferable to nothing from 26-90

    You can take all the surveys you want. They're not going to roll things back to that broken state. What they can do is possibly bring back some of the skills, though that seems doubtful. For better or worse, SMN will remain this way. There's room for additions and improvements to the existing design.

    Add AoE onto energy drain and . .well remove siphon

    Merge dread wyrmtrance and death flare ( death flare ready )

    Three buttons down, then add radiant aegis, single target + aoe gem stacks < three buttons added finished

    lower egi enkindle cooldown ( current summons are just faster enkindle) and add the new visuals to 'em and merge Astral flow with enkidle as well, one stack granted after enkindle then some kinda CD to slot between demis before swapping to next egi

    remove instacast from gems

    So easy, mechanics within mechanics, rotation in a rotation , less ruin 3 downtime , everything fixed

    Any productive effort put into the job at all would be nice. As it is now it's the lowest effort piece of garbage they've ever slapped together. The actual worst case scenario of a rework.
