Which one do you choose? Lottery in the old server for tons of small houses? Or moving to a new server for large chance of mediums/larges with smalls being basically guaranteed even with the worst of luck?

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.
Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.
Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.
I already have a small (in a location/ward that I somewhat loathe), so the sole reason I would transfer would be for a chance to upgrade.
Even if I was guaranteed an upgrade, I'm not sure if it would be worth it. I would be leaving my fc, short queue times, organized hunts, ocean fishing, well populated Bozja, Eureka, etc etc.
Am I salty that I lose every lottery I enter? Yes, yes I am. Am I happy with my personal housing situation? No. Am I enjoying the rest of the game? Yes, which is probably the calculation the devs make when they don't provide sufficient housing.
Im sitting on a really bad S-house for almost a year and already clicked in the old system for around 50 hours in total (and i liked the old system much more! even though i work a normal 9 to 6 job) .
after losing every lottery for M or L plots I actually created one char per Server + on the 2 new servers that just released on EU. Boosted them to 80, did the company rank in 2 hours and gave each 60m gil and they are waiting for Plots or the housing to be implemented on the new EU-Servers.
Ofc! I could just buy a FC with the plot i want on an alt char... but that's absolut dogshit and just helps funding all these idiots buying them to make a crazy amount of profit (gilcap) ...
I scan every lottery's numbers and today on my Main server there is only S plots left from ward 10-24:
Mists:
S: 18
M: 0
L: 0
Lavender:
S: 14
M: 0
L: 0
Goblet:
S: 30
M: 0
L: 0
Shirogane:
S: 9
M: 0
L: 0
Emphyreum
S: 278
M: 0
L: 0

If you have nothing that binds you to the current server, a new server is always better for housing. They will have plots open for far longer than populated servers and you get to pick the best locations.
by the time the housing will open on the new servers, the moneyhungry people already had enough time to make shellfc's to buy the best plots everywhere.. it was the same then and will be same now.
It depends on how many wards SE reserves for FCs and how many for personal use. It will also depend on how many players start up legitimate FCs on tne new worlds. A larger FC should have the odds in their favor when it comes to getting the best plots in new wards.
Last good lottery result
I think it's so messed up that SE is basically saying "alright look we can't add new wards, but here is a new world so that you can leave everything behind and move on to a new one.
I don't mind changing servers as much as the lottery still being in the new servers, but after some consideration will give it shot. Should be quite likely to get a medium somewhere even if the lottery makes the process painful.

People seem pretty sure they could get a house if they transfer to a new server. NA apparently has a few new ones coming out at some point in August. Housing doesn't even open until average population has reached a certain level. For example, housing is not open on new EU servers yet. People seem pretty sure they can get a house if they transfer. However, how sure do you think that really is? I mean, increasing your chances by 50% doesn't really seem worth transferring. While 90% might be, lol.
Just asking opinions from people in general and also from people who have actually experienced this in the past.
