FF XIV not detecting my monitor's resolution

I bought a new monitor because my old one died on me after 8 years, everything seemed to be working ok but XIV has been a real problem child. It doesn't detect my monitors res in borderless windowed at all, and it says my displays are 2 and 3 and after I tried fixing a few things now they are 6 and 7.
my new monitor is 1440p and its becoming such a huge hassle trying to fix all of this.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

When this occurs, are you running multiple monitors, or just one? Additionally does this happen after graphics drivers updated?

I am running 2 monitors, one is 1080p and my new one is 1440p.
I update my drivers thinking maybe this could have effected how XIV would act but nothing seems to have changed once I updated my drivers.

Try seeing how it behaves in bordered windowed mode. I ran a config like yours (1080 paired with a 1440) but in bordered mode. Usually it would detect the correct resolution for the monitor it's on but occasionally (one of the monitors going into sleep mode sending the game to the other monitor) it would need a little heads up by forcing a window size change, like maximizing it or just changing windows size for example. Not sure how you do that on borderless mode.

What resolution does the game say it's using?

Try plugging the monitors into different ports in the video card, if possible.

Cables might also be an issue. I remember having issues with one of my HDMI cables.

Good morning an thank you for the reply.

If you have not done so already, could you try switching to HDMI?
