Again, it's not about fun. It's about getting rewarded for doing nothing. If people can get rewards without doing anything then they will, it has nothing to do with fun.
This is exactly how I feel. I signed up fair and square but was excluded from the group simply because I did not wake up early enough to join the previous run.If someone signs up for Caravan and wants to participate, but is told by a party leader "We're not inviting you", then I've got no problem with them doing whatever. They're trying to get involved but being denied by someone else who's basically being an idiot. The issue is when someone signs up and then runs off without even attempting to get involved.
Ideally, the individual in question will try and find ways to help out anyway. But that isn't always feasible.
The party leader even exclaimed "I hope you die, bitch!" but I kept my calm and did not report him. I should have though.

I have to go with Molly on this one, the content WAS NOT designed to put a group together in town and then go do it, it was designed so that when the npc pops people try to get in asap. Just like behest.
Sure, it sucks you made a full party to do that, but, just like behest, first come first served. Thats how it was intended. Does that mean we have to like it? no. But its nobody's fault that its how they have to sign up for the event.
this rarely happens to us, especially when everyone that does caravan actually want to participate for various reasons. SB gears, leech experience ( if your actually too far from the fight, you dont earn experience ). my server, though im not doing a very good job ( i am admitting it ), GC exclusive linkshell ( probably not the first to ever thought of it ). i actually encourage xp leechers ( level 40 + ) because they earn seals and exp and atleast have a party. also encourage spirit bonding, only take 4 run to fully SB a fresh gear.
now, if you have those none social players, despite the persistance of you trying to invite them to your party, well that cannot be help, one way is to actually not do the carvans and "take a break" and let see if the player actually does the caravan or drops it. but i agree, there has to be a way to not give rewards to those who does caravan and then refuses to do the run and not even join the caravan party that was forming ( ive seen it before in 1.20 ).
But... You understand this has nothing to do with one's full party getting into the Caravan, right? I don't mind if people are fighting over spots in the Caravan. People will get their turn, because the people who didn't get in last time can sit where the NPC spawns and get in the following time. It's made in such a way they turns can be taken. The people running it don't even have to be in a party (and I'm not even sure why Molly was hung up on being in the respective party to the point of doing what I described in the OP), but the issue arises when 8 people sign up and 7 people are running the actual Caravan. It's malicious leeching that needs to be rectified.I have to go with Molly on this one, the content WAS NOT designed to put a group together in town and then go do it, it was designed so that when the npc pops people try to get in asap. It wasn't just that I wasn't invited to the party, that on it's own actually would have been fine with me. It's how I was told that I would not be invited to the party which prompted me to do what I did. Basically it comes down to this; treat people with respect if you want to be treated with respect in return. The dude told me he would not invite me and told me straight up and I quote "I hope you die, bitch!". I actually had no idea I would get seals at all. I was just trying to make the party leader work harder to get the reward because he was being an asshole.But... Thats not the issue we were discussing Vice. you misunderstood, a full party was running, but 9 people WANTED in. Because the full party did not get in, they purposely left out the outside player. My apologies.
So treat people like a bitch if they act like a bitch? It wasn't just that I wasn't invited to the party, that on it's own actually would have been fine with me. Huh? I've never even seen your character in game... Are you seriously claiming that I said that to you?It wasn't just that I wasn't invited to the party, that on it's own actually would have been fine with me. I get really pissed off, but I don't tell anyone to die. I tell my party to let you die. Much more humane, if you ask me.
