Keep in mind that the very good players all know each other and will team up together. That means that if you don't know them, you are stuck queuing with a bunch of randoms. Barely any very skilled player will team up with anybody they don't know on a discord.

That means most random teams will get obliterated by an elite team. They will never win. People will get discouraged and you'll end up with an even smaller player base. Sure, you might think you'll have more fun playing with your friends, but if the only other team in queue at the moment is an elite one, you will lose 100% of the time. Not win some, lose some. No, lose 100% of the time.

There's a reason the good Feast teams had 95% or above win rates.
