Would be nice if they allowed a friend or two at least for Casual if nothing else. That mode is already weird since it just quickly places people of all ranks together.
If people wanted more fair and competitive matches they could play low ranked.
RNG PVP isn't working, simple fact, queue times used to be instant, and they clearly aren't anymore because as players wake up and realize this garbo isn't getting a fix, they out. Feast numbers inc soon, then some desperate changes that won't help, and back to dead games soon enough.
In a game that encourages players to perform a ceremony of eternal bonding...it is really rather strange not to allow people to queue up for more content as a duo at the very least.
The problem of letting us queue as groups isn't the average group of friends being able to formulate some strats.
It is people who have years of solid FFXIV pvp experience (various skillsets and knowledge from Feast carries over) who would be basically murdering games by grouping together, potentially deterring players from joining casual pvp again or giving up early on. We had similar discussions about this on Frontlines, imagine 5v5.
Additionally it would cause some significant issues regarding how to handle groups in queue combined with player pool / job restrictions.

There is a custom match option, problem solved.
Solution to a different problem, not this one. People are asking for dynamic queue systems that allows for less than 5 people on each side and still gets put in the playerpool they queue for.
Custom matches is often used for full teams scrimming against each other or organised events, not average friends playing together.

You know, not everyone doing premades is here to avoid randoms. There could be some people who find things easier getting into pvp playing with a friend or mentor. Not everyone is comfortable with just solo play.I don't want to queue with my friends for any other reason than the overpowering desire to join forces with those who aren't clearly sniffing glue.
Would it result in more wins? Most likely.
Would it make others feel weak and powerless? Absolutely, ergo it will never happen.
While I do agree with rank staying solo there should be a separate queue for those who wants to climb as a team. There definitely should have been an option to at least duo queue in casuals. Feast training had that. I dont know what was the deciding factor to make casuals solo only.
Queuing with friends on the Pro lane, is to easy to get matchfixing done and the likes..
A there is private CC match thing there, so you ask and advocate for something that already exist.
So what you're saying is... because PvP is so competitive, SE is punishing all players because of certain players... So instead of having players feel intimidated to play, they limit players to not enough enjoying it to play. So the issue is different with the same results. That doesn't sound like progress...The problem of letting us queue as groups isn't the average group of friends being able to formulate some strats.

You know what most games did to fix this? They made it so players had to fight other players around their skill level or rank. I get the PvP community is small and casual to help bring all players of all levels to play together to shrink queue time but whenever I queue I only wait for 5mins at most. Usually, queue within the first min or less. So I don't find queue an issue... not sure how it is for others but doesn't seem long at all. Maybe it'll grow due to rankings but if you create a nice gap to connect one rank with another, the queue shouldn't be too big of an issue. As for the small community? Maybe it's small because people aren't enjoying it. If the PvP is not fun, and super limited on who you can play with, I'd say those two reasons are enough to explain why the PvP community is small. PvP is a big multiplayer play and FFXIV is suppose to be a Massive Multiplayer Online game. I already know people who are quitting FF cause of the broken PvP. So... It would benefit to fix for the players and SE.
So in a nutshell, punishing all players because of other players isn't going to help or save FFXIV PvP. It's damaging it.
you're referring to a custom where you HAVE to have 10 people in order to queue together with a friend? That's not what we're asking for. It might be easy for you to get 9 people together but that's an event I have to manage to put together and quite difficult to do. I want to just join with one friend or two. I don't want to put together not just one, but TWO full teams. That's too much and a very 'No, thank you'.
