It doesn't work.
It shouldn't take me 15 attempts to get AF done just because the game thinks I'm running when I'm clearly not.
Please change the way sound aggressive monsters work until you fix your servers.

Well, some enemies detect by 'true sound', so walking only halves their detection radius. Maybe that's the case?
or maybe they just aggro sight :| walking only work with detection by sound, isn't a general law
Guardian Trees and Spriggans. I know that feel, just gotta "take it slow."
(Starcraft Battleship reference)
its just some bugs but maybe you ran into monster that agro sight ._.???
Usually walking behind a monster does the trick, but we have other factors like server lag to attribute these agro problems to.
Spriggans are sight. (with a very narrow field of vision)
See those 2 arrows next to your tp?
If 1 is lit your walking
If 2 are lit your running.
You can press x (i think) to put a little man icon there that ensures you walk but i use chat specific keyboard so typically half press the left stick and then press automove to lock the speed.
the only time i ever have issue is when it occasionally glitches if I aggro a wolf or something and a tree links.......

ya x makes you go into walk mode, I myself have never encountered a bug with this mechanism.
Important things:
1) When you change to passive mode, wait about a second for the game to register that you are, indeed, in walking mode. When you see the orange little walking icon next to your TP bar it is safe to start moving again. You are always running if you are in active mode so never move if you are meleeing next to sound aggro.
2) Walking while riding on a mount will aggro sound enemies, you have to get off your mount to avoid aggro.
Also what other people said, it probably is a different type of aggro. What enemies were they?
Was it wolves? I think wolves are true sound, I can rarely sneak past a wolf. Are there other true sound mobs?
