You do realize this is a 2 way street yes? You speak as if everyone can be pleased which will never be the case. By your logic folks that want xiv to have a battle royal mode should be listened to simply because if they aren't it pushes them away. That's not how this works

    This is the problem:

Sincerely, I really love G’raha Tia. As far as I’m concerned, they could add even more focus on him to the game and it would be 100% gravy for me. Logically, I understand there are people that loathe G’raha as much as I love him, so I support options that minimize the time the player is required to interact with him and negative replies in addition to positive/neutral ones when options to reply are given. This would allow the playerbase leeway in how they see their WoL respond to him on a personal level. (I support this for all the Scions, actually.)

However, you’ve made it clear through your posting that nothing less than a purge of G’raha Tia would show that the developers value you as a player. But why should your desire for a completely G’raha-free experience supersede my desire for a complete G’raha experience? I’m willing to meet haters halfway and say most of that experience I desire should be optional, but you won’t even acknowledge that players like me exist.

Why should I be remotely sympathetic to your desires and feelings for the game with the way you present your arguments as to how it should progress? Why should I think your desires are more important than my own, as someone who likes both G’raha and Alphinaud?

G’raha Tia is my favorite character in the game; don’t be mean to the cute cat-man.

People are 100% allowed to give feeback otherwise quite a few here would be banned from this forum if it wasnt the case...but being allowed to give feedback does not mean that SE has to listen to you, especially when its in regard to something highly subjective like the story.

So if seemingly the story and most of the content is bad for you, maybe it is time to find another game. (And this is coming from someone who has complained a lot too) If I did not like Endwalker and did not look forward to a couple of future updates I would not be playing it anymore. Endwalker is the PERFECT opportunity to drop the game if you dont like the direction its going. The first big arc is finished and it will take some time for the new one to start.

I have been here for years and I lost count how often some of you said that expansion x would be the breaking point. How some even after Endwalker said that they wont sub anymore. Just to have you all still here, complaining quite a lot while also giving SE not only the sub money but also cash shop money on top of that. Why should they change anything if the absolute worst state of the game (in some of your opinions) is seemingly still good enough to pay for?

About the topic: I love the Twins. They are one of my favorite characters. I would not want them to be changed at all.

I can honestly feel your passion for this game, but I'm starting to think you're either setting your expectations too high or maybe you need to find another game/hobby to occupy your time. This is turning into your Hildibrand Relic thread all over again. You're walking a fine line between expressing feedback and insulting other's preferences and then wondering why people are digging in their heels towards your ideas. Nobody enjoys being told their faves should be deleted from the game or heavily tweaked just because you think your vision is better. Healthy discussion is fine, but I'm no longer seeing anything constructive here.

Their expectations are always high. The op and those who share their views about the game are always like this where any suggestion that doesn't go to the extent or isn't as extreme as theirs is not good enough. Along with showing any examples of times the Scions not being on the same page, that all of the governments aren't the same, or that everyone must want and think that the guy in the what a Chad meme is not only what everyone pictures as masculine but is also their cup of tea.

Any kind of disagreement gets shot down or it doesn't count for some reason. While you might get called names and saying that they're being shut down and made to feel as though they can't share their opinions. When asked to show proof of the shut down they never point to the forums they cite Twitter and Reddit and Discords that I'm fairly sure most who post here aren't apart of. Not saying that some who disagree with their views haven't stooped to name calling, but those on the OP's pull out the Woe is me card fairly quickly. To the point that you can't even use real life allegories or parallels or they'll claim that you're saying that they like the things you used in your argument. If not outright calling them said things.

Not that they have gone and outright said it, but I'm fairly sure they'd want the Scions to being prey to the "Protagonists have a fight or misunderstanding that shouldn't even be a thing before the beginning of the 3rd act" cliche. For at least the expansions. Maybe even the .5 patches. I'd hate to think or assume that they'd want them to be always disagreeing as I'm fairly sure we'd get a lot more of the player base wondering if the Scions are really supposed to be friends or even like each other. As I doubt many would want to see constant headbutting.

I think Alphinaud is fine and that he has slowly, but surely refining his debating and negotiating skills. While also learning that not everyone was born as privileged as he was let alone as rich as he was. Remember he started out as your typical spoiled rich brat who then got taught basic survival skills by an ex shepherd turned dragoon.

Did you...do...the role quest? Fourchenault offered Garleans sanctuary in Sharlayan. Some took him up on it. Some decided they wanted to try to rebuild and there was talk of getting their remaining Senate together. And some decided they wanted no part of either option and are going to the moon. In none of that did Fourchenault try to push any ideas of Sharlayan democracy and he was very much hands-off in how they wanted to run things, only offering to assist them in the endeavor they chose.

No but democracy bad, so it existing in the same in-game boundaries means it got pushed.

Never mind that Garlemald was a republic before it was an empire and the senate existed from that time and was carried on. It just lost power in favor of the military, but they were still public officials who offered counsel to the Emperor. It makes sense that citizens would turn to them for some form of government, especially since most of the military legions (or maybe all? I'd have to check some stuff) are defunct now and they were the other major non-imperial power.

Times like these I am reminded of how Archades was wrapped up in the aftermath of FFXII. Larsa, who unlike Alphinaud didn't regress in terms of his characterization and was less preachy besides, ended up becoming Emperor. With the senate and their political machinations out of the way and under control, a new positive future awaited them without completely uprooting their political system.

What an intriguing concept. If only such care was given to FFXIV's Garlean Empire, instead the writers choosing to exclude Gaius from its narrative in Endwalker, refuse to flesh out characters like Nerva, and leave the Leveilleur family to set up a samey republican provisional government as has been done many times in the past. This song and dance has gotten too old and it needs to be called out at every available juncture so that the message is made clear that this cannot be repeated again and that it has thoroughly disappointed those of us who are fans of the Empire. We exist.

I hope that in the future and for the sake of this game's longevity that Alphinaud and the remaining scions are permanently benched in favor of a more interesting party. The route of having immortal forever characters (who also happen to all look the same) does not make for anything good outside preserving the feelings of the twitter community, who would be quick to attach themselves to the latest new posterboy regardless.

6.2, from both a gameplay and story perspective, represents a make or break moment for the game. I do hope that they restore people's confidence in both, but after all that has happened since the launch of Endwalker a lot of confidence and goodwill has been lost.
