“Chinese Jian” glam for PLD

Good morning, glam enthusiasts and experts!

I’m looking for recommendations for a reasonably attained weapon glam for a Paladin whose concept is single blade and no shield (thank you, golden saucer!), specifically in the style of a Chinese Jian, easiest reference being “as seen in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon!”

It doesn’t need to glow or come with bells or whistles, I’m just looking to make a graceful elezen “blade dancer” and give her a tank option!

Hmm, weapon glam, I'm... not entirelly sure there is anything for PLD exactly like that, best thing I can suggest would be to browse here as that is a list of every GLA/PLD sword available in the game, and have a look at the attached screenshots. Unfortunately PLD weapons are pretty much solely traditional European or overly 'fantasy' in design, although there are some low level swords that are Mesoamerican weapons (the macuahuitl type blades).

I'm sorry I couldn't be much more help.

These are the ones I found that (except the first one) have very slim model compared to other PLD weapons.

Was thinking about the same thing yesterday while reading on the Jian. As Ismael mentioned, unfortunately, there are few examples. I myself like to use Tsukuyomi's Longsword as it is the closest we can get atm in my opinion. Easily obtainable by doing Tsukuyomi unsynced (you can buy it off of the marketboard too, but that version comes with a purple glow that looks terrible to me)


edit: as well as looking through the FFXIV database, garlandtools is also a good tool to keep in mind. set it up like this and it'll show you every single Paladin/GLA weapon in the game, and you can look at their models and see weapons that share said model that may be easier to obtain. Maybe something else we haven't mentioned might interest you

Thank you for the lovely suggestions, I do believe I’ll make a goal out of Tsukuyomi's Longsword!

Possibly seiryu’s sword, it has a guard on it but other than that it’s a fairly slender sword. Deepshadow is pretty easy to get and can be dyed if you don’t like the black. Diamond sword from omega is pretty slender and has a curved tip. Homura kai might work although it’s a bit jagged. Ala mhigan kilij is the kind of thing I’d think of when I think 1 handed sword with no shield but it’s more Middle Eastern style than Chinese.
