Why are Ranged DPS so unfun to play?

DNC is fine because it brings a lot of unique mitigation.

lets see close position, cureing waltz, technic every 120, standard every 30, shield samba....and is that it? compared to BRD BV and RF every 120, songs basically at all times, Minne every 90, Paean which is useless 98% of the time, and Troupadour. DNC support isnt even that impressive gameplay speaking almost all of it is automatic besides the Cure, much like BRD besides the Minne. Cure feels alot nicer to pull off than Minne but otherwise you aint gonna notice a thing unless you Parse or your Partner dies. Wouldnt define that as alot nor unique

BRD has an oGCD esuna

as im wirting this i completely forgot about improv, with healers having the most leg room ever as their party is always healthy. How often is that even a game changer? Also also its not immediate so its at a steep price of sitting on your ass doing it. Now that weve exited the box, how often is cureing waltz even a game changer when healers can wisk 2 gcds in half the time and a quarter of the CD? Im not comparing DNC to BRD but im also saying DNC has very few things over it, both being ignorable

Saying “DNC’s heals are decent but totally unnecessary with how overpowered healers are in the healing department” is a totally valid point of view and one I 100% agree with but you can’t bring BRD into the equation and say “because healers invalidate DNC’s heals it’s no better or worse than BRD” when DNC is objectively better in that department

I literally said im not comparing the two, and what DNC brings objectively hardly any DNC user uses as its 100% undermined by the healer that hasnt had a buzz since ARR and throws all gcds at once. at this point all DNC has is close position over BRD but i dont wanna get in the numbers of it all but casuals dont care for that and it all boils down to playstyle not how many buttons DNC has that isnt appart of its cycle
