you're gonna catch a paissa these fists if you're not shirogane by noon pardner
This is why you should
ALWAYS look into having an HOA before purchasing a house. I've seen so many people complain that they want to do whatever they want with their house and don't want a dumb HOA stepping in and telling them what to do. Things like this are exactly what those associations are for. They guarantee that a community of housing has a certain look and feel for everybody that lives there. I'm really sorry that you're unhappy with your house and hope you take this in mind for the future. If it really bothers you, there are plenty of people looking for housing in this economy. You could always just put it back on the market and try again. Thank you so much for your time, and I hope that your future homeowning endeavors line up perfectly with your expectations!
I don't even see how this is immersion breaking. Ishgard housing came about in 6.1. As of the 6.1 MSQ, there's a ton of trade with Shirogane. Judging by how packed in most of Ishgard is, Empyreum is a place where even the smallest houses are going to be owned by some pretty wealthy people. You think there's no one in Ishgard who went east, fell in love with the style, and wanted a cottage like that? That's just life.
I love how OP misses the entire point of specifically the Ishgard housing area.
Empyrium is SPECIFICALLY made for adventurers so people from outside Coerthas have a place to stay. While all housing wards are meant to be where adventurers, not locals, can live, it is literally the entire story for Firmament: to open up to the world, its culture and people.
That Shirogane house is exactly what Empyrium was build for. To bring the new into the crusty shell of Ishgard, to revive it with things that it had closed off to before.
OP behaves like those people that happened to throw a child off the Vault's walls for daring to not live in "the old and expected ways".
Congratz on that, if you planned to be that sort of character, I guess.
It only works as far as the board of the HOA agrees with you on what is or isn't appropriate. Many HoA boards go to an extreme with micromanagement and what you find aesthetically appropriate might be objectionable to them. This is why you should
