I would like this, but only in addition to another actually new (or at least new-to-Final Fantasy MMOdom). Mixed races are not new races, and the game really needs a race that is either at least slightly original, or different from the ones that exist.

I don't want to be a human in a fantasy land- I spend more than enough time playing a human in that hot new game called "Reality."

Hyur- 100% human
Roegadyn - Tall, beefy human
Lalafell - Short human
Elezen - Human with pointy ears
Miqo'te - The least human, but only because they have a tail and cat ears.

Viera - Human with bunny ears

The game seriously needs a less human-like race. Any of the beast races are cool

Pft least these actually have different shapes and sizes compared to the head variation of race differences that swtor offers lol. <_< That game is so lackluster with it's char customization that the horns of your char will be squished if you put on one, they didn't even take the time to take horns into account when putting on headgear. Meanwhile here they take all the physical features into account so gotta give them credit with that even if they all have humanoid shapes with only differences being based around ears, height and weight.

But also even if you say they are all "human-like" it's not like they all have the same running animation or all share the same animations. Each race does have it's unique way of performing animation, running/walk and striking with their weapons, can't say if they hold weapons differently per race since I havent' really paid attention to that but that was a nice detail that XI had, some races would hold certain weapon types differently lol.

I mean it is a series. I don't see why it would be a problem.

I pretty much want anything except Viera, though I would strongly lean towards less human-like races. I don't know why people love them so much. It's basically just another mithra-like sex symbol race. This is a fantasy game and all the playable races are just human variations except debatably the Miqo'te

Gria or Seeq or Bangaa from Ivalice, the Lilty or Yukes from Crystal Chronicles, whatever the heck race Zidane is supposed to be, all of them are > Viera.

I'd love it if Ul'dah looked more like Rabanastre from FF12, with all of the beast races hanging out and chatting in the street. As for Zidane Tribal, if he were in Eorzea he'd probably be a male miqo'te.

Hope I didn't offend anybody with that.


EDIT: Wait...he doesn't have cat ears. OK, so in Eorzea he's the product of a hyur and a miqo'te who's love stretched across species.

On second thought, that doesn't sound so good...

I know we have DoW classes stacked more so than DoM, but I seriously hope they add a Rogue type class because one really should have been here since Day 1.

I miss playing Thief so much, from the first time I got SA/TA, the sound of a deadly crit attack, bouncing hate, skill chaining and generally swinging like a crazy mofo was something I thoroughly enjoyed for nigh on 7 years in XI and really made my role feel important in a party.

This feeling I still haven't got from playing XIV! =(

I really hope I don't have to wait another year for it.

As Rane has mentioned, the remaining results of the survey will be released next week in the 29th Letter from the Producer. This will of course include the new race and clan question!

What do you think the top answers will be?

Didn't someone make an unofficial one on the forums awhile ago? We could use that to maybe get a statistical hypothesis. :O

I would rather more diversity within the existing races. But hey I guess I'm just a musty of geezer...

PFft, you did not say that Genome are better than Viera. Come ON, please, the only difference from a human is the monkey tail. Even more human than Miqo'te, come on.
