I pretty much want anything except Viera, though I would strongly lean towards less human-like races. I don't know why people love them so much. It's basically just another mithra-like sex symbol race. This is a fantasy game and all the playable races are just human variations except debatably the Miqo'te

Gria or Seeq or Bangaa from Ivalice, the Lilty or Yukes from Crystal Chronicles, whatever the heck race Zidane is supposed to be, all of them are > Viera.

I agree about Viera, I have no interest in seeing another fanservice oriented race in the game. While Yukes are cool, I don't feel they quite match the setting

On a different note, I would love a Crystal Chronicles MMO in the style of the first game. Towns acting as PSO style hubs where you meet others and make groups of 4, travel out to dungeons with puzzle and light platforming elements, character progression using a slightly modified version of the first game's artifact system, party mechanics focusing on spell combining and such...would be really cool! Just ad some more unique classes and equipment, and I would totally give square my money for it!

PFft, you did not say that Genome are better than Viera. Come ON, please, the only difference from a human is the monkey tail. Even more human than Miqo'te, come on.

I would like this, but only in addition to another actually new (or at least new-to-Final Fantasy MMOdom). Mixed races are not new races, and the game really needs a race that is either at least slightly original, or different from the ones that exist.

I don't want to be a human in a fantasy land- I spend more than enough time playing a human in that hot new game called "Reality."

Hyur- 100% human
Roegadyn - Tall, beefy human
Lalafell - Short human
Elezen - Human with pointy ears
Miqo'te - The least human, but only because they have a tail and cat ears.

Pft least these actually have different shapes and sizes compared to the head variation of race differences that swtor offers lol. <_< That game is so lackluster with it's char customization that the horns of your char will be squished if you put on one, they didn't even take the time to take horns into account when putting on headgear. Meanwhile here they take all the physical features into account so gotta give them credit with that even if they all have humanoid shapes with only differences being based around ears, height and weight.

But also even if you say they are all "human-like" it's not like they all have the same running animation or all share the same animations. Each race does have it's unique way of performing animation, running/walk and striking with their weapons, can't say if they hold weapons differently per race since I havent' really paid attention to that but that was a nice detail that XI had, some races would hold certain weapon types differently lol.

I loved the magic piling system in the FFCC series, even though it was really hard to leverage in multiplayer.

I mean it is a series. I don't see why it would be a problem.
