I would say much of the cash shop items on the mogstation are largely equivalent in quality to what we can find in-game, the only difference would be some of the mounts, such as the ones that seat several players, and the bike. I know some were complaining about the boss mount from awhile back as well.

In contrast, I know, well at least I've heard, in WoW at least, the cash shop items are of significantly higher quality than what can be earned in-game. With custom effects, animations, etc. for example.

People also massively complain about price increases. Games are the most stagnant when it comes to price increases. Wages and costs have gone up.

People can't have it both ways. So we get this, lower up front cost with add-in purchases.

It's not great for consumers, but businesses exist to make money. And the gaming community is fine with it, despite the grumbling, or no one would be buying things.

Same reason we now have everything made overseas and stuff is designed to fail. People haven't reached the breaking point.

That is a pretty excuse some companies like to make, but many games are designed from the ground up to nickle and dime the player. For that matter, much of what they are making largely does not go back into these games, nor does it go into the actual developers' pockets, it lands in the executives' bank accounts and so on.

It wouldn't really matter if the "gaming community" was fine with it or not, only a small amount of whales need to be, and people who just don't know any different. It is why I think we will be seeing a move towards more and more pay to win, or Genshin style games. It won't stop without legislation. Even then, they will just try to figure out loopholes to get around it. Like with Diablo Immortal trying to skirt around the lootbox thing.

People only have themselves to blame. Now it's too late. It's already inside the game. Imagine unlocking everything in a game you buy, whose expansions you have to purchase separately and you pay a monthly subscription.

But that ship sailed when we had a whale for whales and people didn't catch on to that particular irony.

Recent items especially -- the mameshiba mount, and the streetwear outfit -- have been pretty bad imo. A third of the cost of a new expansion, for an item that can only be worn by one character. I just didn't buy it though. If more people simply didn't buy it, then we probably wouldn't get hit by this stuff so much.

One thing I'll say that I like about the cash shop in this game, is if a seasonal item costs 3 dollars, I can just spend 3 dollars. In another game I came from, you had to spend minimum 10 dollars because they had their own unique ingame cash shop currency. It was so stupid.

Value is relative. I don't find value in most Mogstation items that are more than $10.00, but have at times bought an outfit in the $12 range and mounts in the <$20 area. I know plenty of people who see no problem dropping that amount of money on multiple fantasias or glamour outfits. They're clearly finding value in something I don't.

If something's too expensive, I just won't buy it or will wait for it to go on sale.

If the cash shop items actually provided a leg up benefit for end game raiding, complaints about it would be valid. But considering you do not have to buy a single item at all on the cash shop to get to end game and experience 100% of the game, this cash shop is truly optional. There are no loot crates and almost ALL of the items are purely cosmetic. If you don't like the prices or don't like the cash shop, don't participate. That's all there is to it.

Not really, but it'll run me about 50 to get my wedding done (if not more) because no one is interested, and I have to do it myself with my other account.

At least account service is cheap.

I should do a wedding at some point. For the glamour and stuff. That might end up being awkward.
