Chat Bubbles...

Simple reason is because it's not something that was thought of whenever they made the MMO. It's not something that they thought was necessary.

I came from EQ2 (at....some point) and loved chat bubbles, that was the thing that I had to get the most "used to."

I'm sure that this is one of the first things that they will implement in the game though, so just sit down and hold on.

There is a mod for that...that's all I can say because it's a DIRTY, FILTHY 3RD PARTY TOOL THAT HELPS YOU CLEAR SAVAGE CONTENT!

Chat bubbles are a bannable 3rd party offense to all that are decent and god-fearing. How dare you want to bring this unfair advantage into their virgin view.
Go into the corner and think about what you did, while I watch another healer hard-carry an entire party through leveling hell, just like FFXIV's nature intended.

Every other MMO I've played has them.

I hate them. They're the first thing I turn off. I can't see anything around them.

I'd rather they focus on other content before this.

- Housing (or the lack thereof, really)
- Job balance (*cough* healers *cough*)
- Game stability (server ticks - getting hit by mechanics you were never in)
- Other priority issues (character issues 'Viera/Hrothgar' items, etc.)

People rarely interact in public because they end up getting suspended/banned for what they say. Another reason why there's no interaction in parties/raids - we are all so afraid of being banned because we offended one single person that has no idea how to communicate in the first place, let alone be able to identify a joke, sarcasm, or even communicate without blowing a fuse.

The last paragraph, I'm not sure where you are hanging out but on Aether at least people are very social in public places and within parties and raids. This feature, while small, could still be highly helpful to people.

Mind you, I think it's necessary to be able to adjust these/not use them. I don't think they should be default.....

bbuuuut I also feel like one small fix to QOL would not get in the way of fixing other, bigger issues, the way I see it.

one of my things that I do to get people laughing when I enter a raid or a party for duty finder is "I skipped Porn Hub for THIS place!?" A lot of people get some good laughs out of it, and sometimes even chime in if we're fighting Shiva or Garuda and the like. But I really didn't know that I was walking on eggshells with the TOS in that regard.
