I want to throw myself off of Cloud Top and experience the full consequences of my actions
I want to be able to cast a skill from my mount and get dismounted immediately for combat
I want a pinup of Mother Miounne for my apartment
I want mogstation purchases to be account-wide...

But I would gladly sacrifice all of these for one thng, and that's Chat bubbles. It's rare that I see people interact in this game in public, and when I do, it's typically in large crowds. In previous MMORPGs, I was usually able to use chat bubbles to pinpoint someone in a crowd and engage them directly.

Is there a reason behind this? Maybe to force the player to get more invested in finding the person that's talking via text BOX only?

Chat bubbles is honestly one of my least concerns.
I just find them annoying especially in fights, I even forgot they were a thing in other MMO's until it was brought up.

I feel like if they are implemented they should be highly customizable, be able to set them off for duty/battle. For me it is entirely an accessibility feature because the current chat log is awful to keep up with conversations.

I think that would be necessary yeah, I'd hate to have shitposting in party chat during fights cover up mechanics.
Mechanics in FFXIV are way more visual than in other MMO's, so having stuff randomly popping up on my screen isn't something I'd want to have happen.

If, and that is a major if, they get implemented, it better be an opt-in option, and not an opt-out.

If they are forced, for any reason, there will probably a larger outcry than there has been for housing issues.

There are ways to get chat bubbles that some might call...unnatural.

It is not a program the Mentors would tell you about.

I'd rather they focus on other content before this.

- Housing (or the lack thereof, really)
- Job balance (*cough* healers *cough*)
- Game stability (server ticks - getting hit by mechanics you were never in)
- Other priority issues (character issues 'Viera/Hrothgar' items, etc.)

People rarely interact in public because they end up getting suspended/banned for what they say. Another reason why there's no interaction in parties/raids - we are all so afraid of being banned because we offended one single person that has no idea how to communicate in the first place, let alone be able to identify a joke, sarcasm, or even communicate without blowing a fuse.
