That issue I think is fixed, I had it earlier today (error 505/502), but characters are stuck on the other datacenter and cant go back to their home DC.
Everybody's got their reasons. I came to XIV with an RP community when Wildstar collapsed and we landed on Crystal. Turns out that some of my old raid guild were already established on Aether. While I have some less played alts on Aether once the queues settle down I can bring over my combat main. I have a small cache of map materials that I'm planning on turning into glam items for those same alts.
Thats not what im talking about, when you see that timer of moving from one DC to another DC you are locked into that, you can't exit out of that. there are other errors of course, but once your locked in to travelling you are locked in
Good thing the forums are built to resist to 15,000 complaints a minute.
How dare people complain about a feature that was the major part of this patch, and broke on the first hour, and is now suspended until further notice, leaving thousands outside of their home data center with no way back.
Kupo <3 its over 9000!!!!

That's my concern for those trapped. At a rate of 15,000 per minute it's potentially a lot of people cut off from FC, local friends, retainers, maps, statics, and everything else.
I will really hope that this is fixed quickly for those trapped off-world.
If I'm being honest, I think they might've actually predicted it.
Every time this game has a big release, something like this happens. The hype is unreal. If anything, chances are they're not going to do anything and hope the hype dies down to what they consider normal levels, rather than bother prepping for what they see as a one time adjustment.
That's all fine to me as well, but at least let people travel back to their home datacenter. If I'm being honest, I think they might've actually predicted it.
