    Does CC PvP need more work?

    I've posted my grievances with CC PvP before on another forum, but after some time, I feel the need to ask: Will CC PvP ever get better, and does it need some work?

    I'm not someone who cares about being higher ranked than others, I'm more asking from the standpoint of "I would like to get my rewards without breaking something in frustration," because I've had that feeling pretty much since 6.1 dropped, mostly due to who I'm partied with. And now with 6.2 almost here, I wanted to see if anyone here had hopes that some day (maybe soon), CC PvP will get to a point where it will be less frustrating. Maybe have a matchmaking system based on who has similar wins/losses and put them in a party against another that has players that share a similar record?

    Yoshi suggested they were working to try to improve the matchmaking at least. Making it based strictly off of win/loss ratios is not going to work with how wildly variable the quality of teams is due to having basically no measures in place to curate players based on actual performance.

    I feel like the entire ranking system should be the more conventional point-based type with there being ways to increase points gained/decrease points lost by playing well, getting win streaks, etc.

    I think they mentioned about also trying to combat queue syncing.

    There's work to be done but they have at least done minor balancing every single patch, so at least they are looking into it.

    1. How about the fact that Crystal 5k plays with Dia to Crystal 0k

    2. How about the fact that there is zero shuffling and you can have the same teammates 50 times in a row

    3. How about the fact alone that the crystal has a fixed interval to check if the win condition is true that either results in a lose if you just do one fucking misstep or you can fly to China, get a wife, make a kid, raise the kid, watch get a diplomas, fly back to your City and still make it in time to walk to the Crystal.

    4. How about that there is zero team building

    5. How about that there isn't a single script that checks if it maybe is weird that, I don't know, somebody got 20 wins a row with the same enemy.

    6. How about that every of the 3 maps is just a mess of a design

    7. How about that there is no ranked decay and people just sit the fuck out of their rank

    8. How about that people don't have a hidden elo and some winstreak lucking D5 player with the skill of a Silver is now terrorizing the upper ranks with his unbreakable downrank

    Will it improve? The fuck anybody knows but Yoship but even all that shit is nothing compared to the brain damage of a design that is PLD, BLM and NIN

    Team Ranked is the solution to several problems. Remove solo ranked, replace it with Team Ranked, and go from there. It's a pretty fucking obvious step to take.

    It's no better than Feast was. It needs a complete overhaul.

    CC is going to continue to be a trash game mode, FFXIV PvP always has been garbage. Nothing is goin to change in that department. There is no proper balance to the skills in this game that will allow balanced game play, cause every class needs to fill an "identity" that is outside its role. SMN cant be the "same" as a RDM, or a BLM. MNK cant be the "same" as a DRG, or a RPR. Same with tanks, and same with healers. If every DPS and every tank and every healer had the same skills, so no matter what you played, and you were always on even footing, then the game mode may have a chance, but PvPers dont want fair and balanced. They want to win, no matter the cost. They want there to be options that are heads over heels better then the rest, so that they can exploit them. For every 1 player that has the skills to play their class to the utmost perfection, there are dozens out there that are using glitches and bugs or straight up cheats so they can hold it over others. Thats what competitions do. And thats what competitors compete for, the recognition from others that they are better. Thats why the devs took away conversation from the game mode. There is no discussion of tactics across teams to try and combat specific match ups. Just play blindly. Maybe target the tank? Does the other team even have a tank? Maybe healer, is there a healer? The RNG to everything is just ONE of the major problems with the game mode, as there is only so much you can prepare for, outside of most PvP problems like cheaters, exploiters and hackers. Matchmaking is trash, and if you get trash teammates 90% of the time oh well, theres no novice hall for PvP even though THERE REALLY SHOULD BE! Cause if you don't know the basics of move the objective in an objective based game mode, then you really shouldnt be playing ranked.

    The sooner you recognize that this game mode is made for they hyper competitive,or people who want to be toxic and troll others, the sooner you can get back to enjoyable things in this game like FCs, dungeons and raids, or just chilling in the towns.

    Purify needs to remove all status ailments and nullify all status impairments for 3-5s.

    Because right now you can get stacked so high with stuff that you're basically dead.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    I think the first thing SE needs to do is make a better 1v1 system. Right now it is so unbalanced because of this... you have to rely on other teams to focus on one person to even get a kill that is also an extreme button smash of the same abilities due to the extreme lack of abilities... people don't enjoy lower-level dungeons due to lack of abilities so to think this was ok for PvP was a huge mistake...

    Self-healing should go away. Have you seen two tanks 1v1 against each other? If both tanks use their CD right, that fight can last to up an hour. It makes no sense why you can do that... It's completely silly. Last time I was in a fight like that I allowed myself to lose because I got bored. I felt I was button-mashing the same moves repeatedly with no results. It's just a matter of who gives up or who messes up their healing rotation.

    Each job should get more abilities to stand out more than feeling like refresh copies with small differences like range or weapons while also having ability or two that can benefit your whole team. Like healers having an AOE pull to rescue your team from being sunken in and killed one by one.

    Which this leads to another issue... FFXIV PvP has only one strategy. Target a single person and widdle the enemy down. The first team to do this will have the upper hand right away. And what helps this strat? Stun locking.
    Stun locking is also terrible because all it takes is to get stunlocked by one enemy, break free with esuna(or w/e), then get stunned again before you are truly helpless. You can avoid this by pulling up your barrier after you break free, but you are then holding a blue flag as a turtle that's ready to get focused on and be stomped. Because it signals to the enemy you are at a last resort or you are feeling pressured by being focused on. I've seen this happen a lot to me, fellow teammates, and people on the other team. If you see someone pull up a barrier and you focus on them with your team, I guarantee you are sure to get them to die. This single strat is killing the PvP in FFXIV and will bore many players quickly because it is a rinse and repeat of the same thing.

    I think once you have a better 1v1 system, they can expand to bigger group content. It needs to be fun. PvP could even feel silly with more mechanics like having items to pick up. It's already proven to be possible with healing items(which also adds we don't need self-healing) so giving us bombs to throw or race to reach something to trigger a trap would be great and exciting. Right now PvP is a chore to get things... we don't want to do chores in a videogame. We want to have fun as we get things... not feel obligated.
