Novus D Mount Lore (Don't read unless completed Endwalker)

In case you are unaware, the Novus D can be seen around Garlemald as wrecks, and there's also a Novus D Minion with Nero on the windows.

Background of it to become a new mount:

"Cid and his Ironworks engineers went on a salvage expedition to Garlemald and decided to bring back the wrecks of several Novus S back to the main factory to see if they can be restored, or at least copy their design and remake it anew."

There could be several variants of the mount, in different colors, but i'll just mention 3:

Novus S in Garlean Grey Steel - this is the standard color of the car once it has been restored.

Novus S in Ironworks Colors - A very simple blue and white color scheme that resembles the Ironworks colors. Mogstation? Goes well with Ironworks outfit on MogStation.

Novus S Diamante - Brought by Godbert Manderville himself, this Novus S is made of diamond. Expenses mean nothing, but can be yours for a small loan of what... 850,000MGP?

Only 850,000 mgp? Not 1-2 million mgp?

Hmm... the car doing a one-up on the Sabotender Emperador mount then?
Sure, having it the new most expensive MGP mount be a nice MGP sink.
Of course, depends on what the devs would think the price would be.

This will be really neat to have, at least a car with Garlean origins fits in to the lore of the game.... unlike the Regalia. Perhaps the car could carry multiple players? I guess the basic one maybe is just solo, but the premium ones maybe could be duo friendly, hmm.

Yeah, think it would be a 2 seater anyway, like the Al Akil bike (spelt wrong?), and maybe can have a person on roof as a joke (Saints Row easter egg doing Russian squats) - though for sure it would be a 2 seater.
It depends on how they want to push it. (I can certainly see someone trying to do stunts on the roof though - if it ends up as an option cool)

Well, I don't see it not being a possibility, the problem is there are wrecks of other Garlean cars strewn around the ruins of Garlemald and... they're not very big! A mount has to be able to also open to show your character (this is why the folding roof the Regalia is meant to have doesn't work) in order to fit roegadyn and hrothgar characters who.. would kind of dwarf it, although I guess they could handwave it away and just have your character disappear into it like the Lunar Whale.

A final point that is that there would have to be some way of making it fly (as all mounts fly now), and, I guess some magitek 'upgrade' could me made to make them fly, this doesn't seem to be ironically an option the actual Garlean ones have!

Still, ignore my nitpickings, it would still be fun to get!

True, the taller races like Roegadyn and Hrothgar would have trouble fitting in, but at least go way of the Lunar Whale, poof our characters when summoning the mount - maybe have our characters on a screen when driving similar to the Level Checker mount, that way it doesn't matter how tall our characters are. And has for it to fly... most mounts wouldn't normally fly regardless... Behemoth, Hippo Cart etc, yet can still fly. The Novus S mount can be similar, maybe could have 4 magitek levitators instead of wheels so it can fly?

In the specific case of the Hippo Cart, it's explained by the sunshade cloth being made with flying carpet making techniques!

Fair, but that can go for anything.

And look at stuff like the Fenrir or the Tank achievement mounts (lion, bear, etc) which have no explanation for flying, they just kinda do. We have giant cards and gazelles that fly through the sky effortlessly. While Fat Chocos have wings, it's hard to believe any amount of cake motivation would turn that willpower into flight, and how does the gobbule fly? The wolf? The snowman?

While I DO love more lore-reasons/mechanical explanations for why they're able to fly, there are a lot of mounts that just require suspension of disbelief.

An interesting thing that might be a factor on those in particular: early into flight being a thing, they were angling for only certain mounts being flight-capable. I don't know when exactly they dropped that, but chances are a whole lot of those earlier mounts that can fly 'just because' actually weren't envisioned as being flight-capable until they decided 'screw it, they can all fly'.
