    Loot Rolls

I don't know if this is the proper use of the forums, but I would like to suggest to the FFXIV team some changes to the loot UI:

o When an item is rolled NEED by the only person eligible to roll NEED, all other players are automatically given PASS rolls.

o When there is current loot being rolled on, and when out of combat, the UI is automatically opened and remains open until a person selects NEED, GREED, or PASS.

o If possible, allow a person to still be eligible for loot even if they leave an instance. Some people, likely many trying out the game for free, may not be aware that once they leave an instance they forfeit loot.

Why? Why stop other players from being able to greed on it?
It doesn't hurt the person Needing, and only wholesale prevents others from being able to get the item if the Needer doesn't want it.

Lol that could be nice. It bugs me in alliance raids when I'm waiting to see if I get a piece and someone just doesn't think it's important enough to roll on.

In theory this might be neat, but I don't know if SQEX system's can track this after people all go back to their home worlds.

The reason for the first suggestion is similar to the reason for the others; that is to not hold up everybody with a timer. There are people who will wait until the end of the timer so that others will get tired of waiting and leave, giving them the best odds at the loot. The first suggestion is just a logical thing to do. If anybody that is allowed to roll need does roll need, then those who do not have the option to roll need on that item to begin with have absolutely no chance of ending up with it. Just sitting on the timer waiting for people to give up is, at worst, a dirty thing to do.

If this is really so widespread an issue it needs correcting, preventing people from rolling greed might not really address the problem...
Especially since the items people generally do this for are things everyone can need on, like mounts and minions and music and hairstyles.

People wait out the long loot timers on my datacenter way too often, usually on purpose but sometimes people just want to afk as soon as a duty ends and forget to roll before they leave.

I feel the timer is at least a minute too long, because abuse happens so much more often than legit reasons to need time like being disconnected. It's also a shield for deliberately afk people in alliance raids to be immune to kicking while loot is up.

Their suggestion doesn't really mean changing how anything works, just cutting out unnecessary waiting.

If people who can only roll greed or pass on their role have already been overruled by somebody rolling Need on that item, then it can just give the loot already instead of waiting for what has already been decided. Waiting a few minutes for the person who cba to press pass isn't going to change who gets it at that point.

Great idea, I 100% support this

I agree with this also, it would be nice if the items you've already rolled or passed on are ignored by the system as well, just to streamline the whole process if you have lots of loot in the pool.
I noticed this is a pain while leveling tanks, I'm under some pressure to proceed swiftly, pull packs and navigate while also having look through the loot pool of 5 to 6 items trying to work out if an upgrade has dropped for me or not. It could certainly be a smoother process that's for sure.

Not sure if it's possible to be honest but if it it is, sure.

    Oh! I misunderstood their suggestion.
    That makes sense.
