I like how the GMs acted on this but left the anti-lgbt/openly homophobic FC to advertise over /shout for weeks despite dozens of us reporting it.
Once again proving where their priorities lie.

I found the pride parades on my server to be obnoxious and disruptive. The sheer number of people was making me lag and my frames drop. I had a difficult time clicking on things because people were parading over it. Shout chat was amok with activists and twitch links and donation links. It was pretty disruptive to my game. I didn't report because that's petty and would say a lot about me as a person but I did find it very annoying and wish I knew of ways to express this isn't acceptable without coming across dismissive or like a jerk to the cause. There's a right way and wrong way to do things and this wasn't the right way.
This is the only right response I've seen in this entire thread. It doesn't matter where in the world you are, this issue still affects women on a monumental scale. I agree with not pushing the issue in game since there are clearly those who are against abortion rights and will try to get said people who support it banned from the game. However, just telling us to shut up and go talk to our reps is extremely thick-headed and just shows how little some know about how politics here works. If our reps LISTENED to us in the first place and had women's healthcare in mind....Roe v Wade wouldn't have been overturned. Now, a large amount of our reps are going to follow their own beliefs because that door was opened. Our country has literally gone backwards and women have lost rights. I'm sure if this was happening in your country, you'd have a similar feeling of anger and outrage that your wife or daughter cant have the same rights they had a month ago. Who knows, maybe your government will look at this and decide to push a similar agenda forward. Next is absolutely going to be an attack on LGBT rights and their ability to get married. Who knows, maybe even segregation will come back in existence one day now too. While I respect the OP for their vigil, I agree with the GM decision. It's not that they're against supporting human rights, it's the fact the game can't be used as a media to do so. It's far too difficult to know where to draw the line on controversial topics and dangerous for a company to openly pick sides. It's also part of their ToS and their job to uphold it. If they ignored some things that are vague on whether it's political or not, people are going to ask why they can't bring up slightly less vague topics and then stronger topics and so on. It's sadly a slippery slope.
However... some of the responses from the community here are absolutely shocking. It doesn't even matter if you live in the US, it's a very real and serious issue that is affecting the lives of millions of women and may have the potential to influence other parts of the world. It's a big step backwards and will have some awful long term consequences.
I'd actually respect people who were straight up anti-abortion and just had their own view more than the dismissive, scathing "lol who cares, get that out my game" remarks, lacking any sort of empathy. I don't see an MMO entirely as an escape from reality because we share them with millions of other real people. A little empathy is a good thing to have. It just goes to show how much some of the community really does live in a bubble.
I don't really care if I get hate for that. Like I said I agree with the GM and the game isn't a place to debate it, but at the same time my heart goes out to the women and lives affected. That's just my thoughts.
Keep it out of the game, sure, but just telling people to basically shut up and act like everything is fine/"dis muh game, go talk to someone who doesn't care about you" is a new low, even for this forum.

The problem is nowadays most people want to make the political/expression an issue in every setting regardless (Universities, workplace, Modelling, Tv, videogames etc.,) and that’s what feeds further discord, entropy & just hostility needlessly speaking really.
I am not an American myself either & personally it has shocked me the recent events of that law change for women & its far unreal.
While also I don’t respect anyone (regardless of your ideology or political stance) to bring it on about to places where we just seek respite to momentarily disengage from real life personal sorts or external circumstances; do that with mind-like individuals & discuss it freely but don’t go preaching about it.
If they are gonna be fair OP has a point, they should have removed any and all LGBT pride pf's as well since that is also a "political" issue that no small amount of people get butt hurt over.
It was a sad day when I seen the USA take yet another step towards cementing itself as a 3rd world like country. And we have seen one of the justice's mention going after the lgbt rights next. Oof.
Really don't think a basic human right should be a political issue but apparently it is since people just have to poke their nose in on other people's business.
Shame on the person who reported that pf. People just standing there does nothing to you.
You are crossing boundaries. Everyone is entitled to human rights, even the two cells each one of us has been at one point.
Twelve pages that accomplish nothing because you're preaching to the wrong crowd.
Regardless of which side of the debate you're on, the correct place for discussion is at public rallies, public forums dedicated to laws and legislative awareness, or in letters to your goverment offficials.
And someone making a pf for those who care is forcing others to be soldiers? No, they are free to ignore and carry on. Seeing a pf for one gathering is not much different from another. Nobody had an issue with the vigil over people passing away or organised lgbt events. But this one was singled out.
Also I never mentioned the game at all I mentioned people writing the subject off because it doesn't affect THEM in their country is stupid.
Boy, I sure do love coming home after a stressful day of work to escape real world issues to jump into a FF themed world where I get to think about... real world issues. Video games sure are fun...
