An in-game UI that let you try on every piece of glam and how to get them

First and foremost, I don't talk about how "get the glam and they will be with you forever". It would be cool, but it seems not working with FF14 for developers' reasons.


What I mean is an UI that will show you all the gear in-game and how to get them. More importantly, you can try them on too. Think of Dream Fitting function at the Inn that let you try out store-bought item, but this UI will expand to non-store bought games too.


So, let's say I want a leg-piece that fit my glam idea, I open the UI, and use Try On every leg-piece that the game offers. Prefer to have a filter on gear categories and contents they come from (raid/dungeon/crafting/hunting...). Then I see the leg piece I want, I read where I can get it. Perhaps excluding store-bought items cuz you have Dream Fitting for it already.



I think it will be helpful for glam dresser to get the piece they want without having to run every where to try on NPCs' item list, or resort 3rd-party plugins.

That would be cool, specifically if it doesn't flaunt cash shop as well. This by the way would be a fantastic segue into a wardrobe (GW2) / transmog log (WoW) system.

It is actually somewhat related. Yoshi P said that making a list of showing all existing things would also include things that are not available anymore/are cash shop only/come from codes with statues etc. and it would annoy many people to have a list that they can never fill Yes they could just make everything available again but there are things like 1.0 stuff etc that probably will never come back

That's the opposite of what is being asked. The list of cash shop glamours already exists; OP is asking for a list of things that can be acquired in game.

Additionally, the phrasing in your quote as a "list they can never fill" indicates that the statement would have been regarding a checklist of things to collect, not a simple preview of everything.

There will likely never be a one-stop-shop option. That's just too much info to be handled at once. This is why dream fitting exists as it does, within the confines of the inn room. This is why we have youtube channels like this one. All this info is available outside the game already.

Not every player is this much into glam and those that are have little trouble venturing out to find what works. It's not a necessity and people get by just fine without it. Dream Fitting is the exception because you want to be sure you'll be happy with an outfit before you put down real money on it.

I mean if you think about the Marketboard, that has a list of lots of equipment to try on, and not too long ago we had the Rowena representatives added in each city with a list of trial/raid/tomes etc gear. So I don't think a single medium containing everything, even if just for viewing purposes, is impossible. Though such a thing probably is not a priority at the moment, even if it was considered.

So why can't we have other similar searches in the confines of the inn room?

Even if they can't handle everything, viewable dungeon and alliance raid gear would be a massive help.
