"No matter how dark the night, morning always comes."
Even if it's been 3yrs, anyone who has been playing Viera/Hroth for some time would know better, and should continue to assume a headgear piece won't show UNLESS they try it first to confirm. Get another player to link the item or use the new Dream Fitting at Inns in-game to check it works.
How convenient your screen shot just barely cuts off the "About This Item" where it says exactly what you needed to know about the items. Did you even bother to scroll down?
hopefully this picture is really big so no one can miss it.
Perhaps you can open a ticket item to have the item removed from your inventories and refunded. Just explain it was a one time mistake and they might have some leniency on you.
Perhaps you might also be able to contact your bank for a possible refund for only being able to partially use a product, but doing that can cause issues down the line. Square can block all future transaction with your card if you do that.

I'll agree that its there fine. But it's not up top, it's not highlighted, it's not bolded or any way made different as a warning to the buyer. In fact it's not even in my window, i have to scroll down to see it. but Buy is for sure in my window.
And it's been long enough, and things should work. Especially if they're charging money for it. That's my biggest gripe. I'm paying additional. Items should work.
It's more than a little shameless to say "hey, we're charging full price for this product that doesn't work completely. THANKS"
Okay lets say they redesign the Online Store like the following:
The crudely drawn orange circle could show some sort of warning or heads-up of the limitations of the product for races.
OR what if they move the purchase options to the bottom of the page so consumers are forced to scroll down past the "Description" and "About This Item"
What if they included screen shots of all races and genders wearing the product?
Would this have prevented consumers from making an uninformed purchase regarding the race limitations?

Yes they could do all of that.
But for everyone saying "well they wrote it" Yes. They did.
But thats still missing the whole point.
It's been 3 years since Viera/Hrothgar released. And again: There are hoods and helmets that work with viera/hrothgar! So, it definitely is possible now. But I still cant have a working item that they are charging money for.
Meaning, they are still perfectly willing to charge money for a product that doesn't fully work for a significant amount of the player base.
That's the point. It should work, especially if they are willing to charge people for it.

The development team initially made the adjustments on their own time, without instruction to do so. Source: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...I-(05-09-2019)
Even the male Viera was made on the developers free time. Source: https://blog.playstation.com/2021/06...ki-yoshida-qa/
I wonder how many hours they work and how much free time they have to work on these projects.
The items do work as stated. If you were to Fantasia to one of the races other than Viera or Hrothgar, the head item would display instead of remaining invisible simply because you were Viera or Hrothgar at the time of purchase.I'll agree that its there fine. But it's not up top, it's not highlighted, it's not bolded or any way made different as a warning to the buyer. The limitation of the item was stated on the product page. You still chose to make the purchase. If you feel like you're being cheated, that's on you for being a dumb consumer. Learn to read everything contained on a product page instead of impulse buying. I've saved myself a lot of money on potentially bad purchases over the years because I took the time to read the fine print.
You were told upfront to expect head items not to work. You would think after 3 years that Viera and Hrothgar players would finally be able to understand that SE was serious when they said that.
You would think after 3 years that Viera and Hrothgar players would finally be able be able to wear hats by allowing external head pieces to clip through hit boxes like they do for miqote and aura.
And again, they've gotten other head pieces to work. It just clips through. So I'm not sure why things can't continue to clip through. And it's not exactly a limitation, because it's not a restriction like a male-only or female-only attire. It's a completely non-functioning aspect of a product.
Imagine Viera ears would stick through headgear, Yohida would not be able to sleep anymore.
Jokes aside, Viera and Hrothgar use their own model for head gear, so it is simply laziness to add them. Stop paying money for cash shop items.
