lets be honest, they have said NOTHING about whats changing.I feel as if I was conditioned to believe that the developers of this game listen to their community, so I wasn't really worried about the future of this game. But despite all of the new amazing content I am looking forward to from the Live Letter, I am now at a loss for if I will even be able to enjoy it as I would like to.
They have decided to move forward with a dragoon rework and I was personally really caught off guard. Previously they stated they were considering major changes to DRG but when the entire DRG playerbase said that the job was in a perfect or near-perfect spot, I assumed DRG would be left alone or only given some small tweaks centered around DH/Crit and Battle Litany/Life Surge. But they recently announced a full rework IS coming in 6.2
As a DRG main, I also personally felt that dragoon is perfect to play and the only things that have ever annoyed or bothered me was things that were at the end of the day, me as a player failing in that moment, and not actual problems with the job (like jumps locking you in place and perhaps because of this you eat a p4s sword).
So what is the deal here? Are the developers really just ignoring the entire playerbase of this job and changing it despite protestations?
For all you know they could just be giving you the GNB treatment and consolidating buttons to save bloat.
Wait it out before commenting.

And that's the problem. They didn't say they were removing Kaiten from SAM until 2 weeks before 6.1 dropped.
With SE's track record, I doubt it. They already made the Mirage Dive change, anything more is superfluous.
Heard this before with Healers, DRK, MCH, MNK (multiple times with MNK especially), SAM, etc. We have enough history of the dev team's flops with job changes to warrant scepticism.
There isn't button bloat on Dragoon though, it actually has the last amount of actions compared to every other job I have at 90... My GNB, DRK, NIN, RPR, RDM, and PLD all force more binds. And this isn't even accounting for the fact that I have mirage dive still bound on my hotbar even though you no longer need to. Dragoon has a lot of inputs during their rotation but they don't have button bloat.
and if we take this at face value anyway, the only changes that people ever mention to improve "button bloat" is consolidating Fang and Claw and Wheeling thrust into one button (which would feel terrible and remove the "flow" state of alternating between the two) and removing life surge and just baking its buff into heavens' thrust (which I wouldn't really care about happening, but is more of a "make it less busy" change than a "make them have less binds" change).
