Relax... there will be so many things to do in 6.18, while we wait for 6.2...It's funny how they said they will go back to normal schedule once COVID is over a few years ago.
Then in the live letter they announce that the patch cycle will be 4 months instead of 3.5.
And now it's 4.5 months after 6.1
I wonder how the white knights will defend this.
It's like, you don't want the game to make you do things, do you? It's better to have nothing to do and pay the monthly fee, than to have some content to distract us until a bigger patch...

If they're waiting for Covid to be 100% gone they're never going back to a normal schedule. The majority of the impact Covid is going to make is over, and it's just going to be something like the flu that we need to deal with from now on. The only reason SE hasn't gone back to how they used to operate is that they discovered that they prefer the Covid release schedule over the typical one. This isn't exactly unheard of either, many people who were forced to work at home or do other things due to Covid (which causes less productivity) have found that they prefer that lifestyle.
White Knight Detected, they accidentally made a reasonable rationalization instead of agreeing with me and Reeing at the Company like me.Relax... there will be so many things to do in 6.18, while we wait for 6.2...

Ok. First of all, you are using the term "goalpost" wrong. A goalpost is NOT a timeline for the release of work. They harm no one by having to revise their release timeline due to COVID (which is NOT over, btw. We are still very much in the midst of it, which is evident by the fact that most national and international organizations are still recommending the use of masks and social distancing. [https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...evention.html] [https://www.who.int/publications/i/i...erim-guidance])
The phrase "moving the goalpost" means to tell someone that once they have completed x, y, z, they will have fulfilled the terms of their agreement, only to then say, "oh, no wait. Actually, you need to do this too." Basically, the person moving the goalposts makes it impossible for the other person to succeed in their task. [https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/...the-goalposts] It's manipulative and coercive and not at all what the devs are doing by revising their timeline for release.
