So in a MMO (and a monthly sub one at that) we gotta wait longer for content because of the progressive single player-ification of the game? The same game that got record sales going into this expansion to the point of being """sold out""" and should be swimming in resources? And why I as a veteran player should be served less content than I was receiving before for the "benefit" of players who'll get carried to current content by bots, without knowing how to play the game and be a burden to everybody else THAT LATE into the game?

But once again I get your frustration...however from a business viewpoint...do they please their current base without changing the foundation or anything early game and keep going further and further ahead making it a gigantic wall for new players. You say single player but I don't quite view it that way...the more expansions we have the less likely players will be in the early game. Allowing players to do dungeons with AI is a great way at allowing them to progress down the core content unlocking path (Which is the main story) This doesn't include trials yet and I wonder how much work it would be to redesign them but them giving new players options to advance without feeling like they have to wait 30 minutes to dps queue a dungeon no one wants to run is a good thing.

If they aren't planning to have 7.0 as a new start point for players then they need to tidy up everything before to allow it to better flow when people get further and further away from ARR/HW stuff. Resources are finite and I am happy to take a hit and play other games etc if it means more people will play the game in the long term. The game is 10 years old....if it were 2-3 then I would be completely with you and your complaint (New world is literally reworking story zones now and its 2 years old) but there's a lot of story...there's a lot of game...its a mountain to climb.

But aren't roulettes supposed to help with that? Or free companies? With people willing to help new players? And we're talking like 5-6 dungeon runs across the entirety of a vanilla expansion MSQ (not counting patches because it varies). I'll grant that it's not an ideal situation, but it's not as bad as to warrant delaying content patches with raids and whatnot for it either.

Gaining new players isn't everything, retention is also important (especially for a subscription game) and they seem to have trouble with that, judging from a job posting some time ago.

lmao that doesn't even take that much manpower unless you think they're all novice coders or something

Source for that? How can you know the amount of the resources that is devoted to Duty support? besides, isn't it just an upgrade to squadrons, which were already upgraded in ShB when they added duty support originally? I know it's still work that has to be done, but put most of their effort into it... I don't know, Rick...

Revamping old content to be more accessible (and arguably more engaging, looking at you Castrum and Prae) is a good and in my opinion necessary move on their part. It's a great way to future proof some things. I'm hoping that they've got plans for a CT revamp as well. Unfortunately, no one can say for sure whether this is taking vital time and resources away from other things, but it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case.

Yeah this is a terrible take on that poster's end honestly. You cant just focus on the veteran players all the time otherwise you'd lose traction for newcomers to enjoy the game if they're forced to deal with archaic game design and systems. What worked for us back then doesnt necessarily work for us now. Especially when we know better.

Yes, it won't be over till people quit spreading anti-vax nonsense and people stop giving it a chance to mutate and propagate. There was a MASSIVE spike in January and it's far from over. As such, delays are expected to non-essential things.

A.) If you don't make the game more accessible to new players, and all you have are people gradually filtering out, then the game ends for all of us (you included) sooner rather than later. Investing in ways to attract and retain new players is essential to the long-term lifeblood and enjoyment of an MMO.

B.) I subscribe to a few different monthly streaming services. I don't expect each one to release exactly the type of new show or movie I personally like to watch every month. I still say subbed because there's already plenty of things in my queue I'm looking forward to watching, and - quite frankly - as someone with a full-time career, the cost is negligible.

    A) It's a bit of a contradiction when they still have to clear the whole MSQ to be able to play current content with their friends, which is a common complaint. That is unless they want to pay a few delicious euros to skip it and level up. Now, that's accessible. Or when they refuse to translate the game to different langages. That is real accessibility. Maybe in the future with a Mogstation update.

B)You kind of had a point until you went full Lolorito. Your economical situation doesn't reflect that of everyone's. The fact that you don't care about your money, doesn't mean no one else does. Them, halting the auto-demolishing process during delicate situations so people don't have to subscribe, means they are aware of this.
