    No Refund of Gil after betting on house

    THIS WAS NOT A BUG, BUT MY OWN STUPIDITY. I AM SORRY. Please close this thread.

    Steps:
    1. At first, I placed a bit on a medium house for 16.000.000 Gil at Ward 14 - Plot 42 and waited until the results were public.
    2. Somehow I may have confused the information given by the placard, I thought the results will be posted at July 1st - But apparently they were before that date.
    3. The plot I bid on was now occupied. I interacted with the placard to at least get the deposited Gil back, but there was no such option.
    4. To be absolutely safe, I have checked every ward (1-24) on plot 42 in case I may have mixed them up. Still nothing.
    5. I also double checked that I am neither in New Game + nor on a different server than my home server.
    6. I have checked my "Timer - Estate" menu, which does not really help either. It just states "Housing Lottery Status - Entry period in progress". I can not click on it to gain further information.



    7. I contacted customer support via E-Mail, in German and English, which wasn't all that helpful. I had to post my issue here for it to be investigated.

    At what time and date did you place the bid exactly? What appears on the individual tab? Are you on your homeworld?

    They placed their bid during the last entry period, and never picked up the refund off the board when they didn't win. That results / refund period is now over, the next entry period is active.

    I dunno what happens when you don't pick up your refund off the board during the allotted refund period. If it were me, I'd figure I lost the gil. I don't imagine support is really into processing refunds for unclaimed lottery board entry fees. That's just my guess, though.

    In any case, this isn't a bug. It's normal procedure. Since a refund period is provided, it's on our common sense to realize that when that period ends, there's no more refund available.

    Still I wish you luck, OP, if they can do anything then that's awesome.

    Yes. I was confused about the system and it said that a new period will start an 1st July, so I thought after that date I get to know whether I won or lost.

    I think there is 90 days to get the gil back.
    Exactly. The entry on the lodestone regarding the lottery states the following:

    "≪Losing the Lottery≫
    You will receive a 100% refund of the deposit paid at entry.

    Regardless of lottery results, any and all refunds for a given lottery period expire 90 days (Earth time) after the results period ends. Please be sure to accept your refund within this allotted time by accessing the same placard by which you entered the lottery.
    Failure to accept your refund within the allotted time will result in the loss of said refund."

    I am well within the 90 days of the result period, which ended yesterday. I still don't have the possibility to get the Gil back by interacting with the same placard I placed the bid on.

    At what time and date did you place the bid exactly? What appears on the individual tab? Are you on your homeworld?
    I placed the bid on June 26, I can't remember the exact time though. I've got nothing on my personal timers tab regarding housing and yes, I was on my homeworld.

    just as a dumb check maybe just check plot 24 to see if there was an accidental inversion of data entry perhaps?

    That didn't work, sadly. What I also did was check plot 21, as it's the "other side" equivalent of plot 42. The one right in front of the apartment that is. Also no luck.

    Yeah, I see. They've worded it as if losing entries may be retrieved from the placard for up to 90 days. But clearly, when the results period is over, the placard shows everyone the next entry stage. I see several other reports of this.

    We are in Bug-Report, though. Bug reports are a one-way communication about something that's borked in-game. Though the devs would eventually look into the issue via your report here, no one will respond to you personally or work to specifically resolve your issue. You can browse other threads here to see how this works. The only end Bug Reports ever come to is to be moved into "Accepted Bugs", "More Info Needed", "Not A Bug Report", etc.

    For help with this specific instance of the problem, you'll want to make a support request. Put in a ticket via the support desk.

    I did. The answer was that I was supposed to open a thread here. They'd be unable to help otherwise. So I guess I'm screwed? Getting pushed from one end to another?

    First thing was that my native language wasn't even viable. I wrote a ticket in German and got the answer, that I should try again at 00:00 o'clock the next day, because then "German employees would be available", which I found hilarious. I could also redo a support ticket in English, which I did then. I got a copy and paste answer from the Lodestone Page, despite clearly stating it does not work. I replied with said information again and was forwarded to this exact forum to make an entry.

    As I am understanding now, I won't be getting the 16 mil Gil back, right? Which is no trifling amount to begin with. This is extremely unsatisfying and kind of shatters the image I had of square enix and FFXIV to this day.

    There recently was a similar ticket in the German part of the forum. Someone on the community team replied that it had been checked up by the developers and that the person in question had gone to the wrong ward.
