    DNC complaints

    I like DNC. Hitting shiny buttons is fun. But there's a couple-three things about it that leave me going ?????
    • Why two button-presses to switch dance partner? That should have been updated when SGE was introduced with Kardia being basically the same thing.
    • Why don't Devilment and Flourish just proc into Starfall Dance and Fan Dance IV? While other jobs (cough cough, SAM) are getting gutted "to reduce button bloat", DNC has one of the most egregious examples of button bloat to date. Besides, DNC's entire gameplay identity is "hit shiny buttons", so it would only make sense if these two abilities played into that.

    Have the devs ever addressed these?

    yeah it's kinda funny Samurai players complaining about Ikishoten triggering but not becoming Ogi (even though you can write simple macro that does just that) and there is Dancer, who got like 3 Ogi Trigger skills xD"

    Seriously. I use macros to change Devilment and Flourish, so I've gotten to see first-hand just how painful it is to hit a macro'd ability just a split-second too early.

    As SAM player using stuff like Tilana is insulting and as DNC it's insulting aswell. First is "why the hell they destroyed job if they can easily merge abilities?". Second is "why the hell everything else doesn't work like this?"

    Those are two of the most common suggestions people give about EW's DNC.
    No clue why they haven't implemented them yet, especially considering PVP's DNC's Closed Position (dance partner button) already is like that. :B

    I swear the 3 ability's they gave us in EW all feel like the same move. "Hits the first enemy/Target for X pot then all other enemies in a cone or line for less, Requires X skill to trigger."
    What did they do in planning, say: "DNC needs 3 ability's. Uhh.... I got nothing... just give them the same ability 3 times with different animations."
    Could be worse i suppose, though off the top of my head i cannot say how.
    They really do need to take OP's feedback into account, we all have been saying it for a long time.

    Flourish having a combo action at least makes some sense since in that it makes the 60s window a little more busy. I don't know if the 120s really needed 2 new actions though, the burst was the one part of the rotation that already felt very busy. Not necessarily a bad thing to double down on having a hectic burst, but I think what the job needs more at this point is having a little more to do in between. Right now the bulk of the rotation is very plain, especially before you are capped on feathers.

    I don't like having to stay in one spot to generate a level 4 barrier from Improvisation. Sure the drive-by Regen is kinda nice but as a whole it's meh otherwise.

    This too!!! It would make way more sense if Improvisation provided a shield while dancing and then a regen once it's done.
