It’s arbitrary to mention it though. It’s nothing new that we haven’t already gotten in the past. In that case stormblood still has the most content of any expansion lol. That’s like calling reused dungeon sets “new.”No, the variant dungeons are also new. It's 3 new difficulty levels. It would have been simpler for them to be named Normal, Extreme and Savage.
Just because we normally get all of the other content I listed, doesn't meant that the content is not new. It is a new dungeon, it is a new set of savage raids and it is a new extreme trial.
No, it's not, because they are not reused. They are new.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

So the 87 dungeon sets aren’t reused? The 83 dungeon sets don’t get reused? The 81 dungeon sets aren’t reused? Are we in different timelines perhaps? I’d love to join yours where we get unique dungeon gear more than we do now, or at the very least reused gear is dyable, of which the 87 dungeon gear is not and i don’t believe the 81 dungeon gear is either…
If I get a new t-shirt it's still new, no matter how many t-shirts I've had before. The dungeon, trial and raid are all still new even if they were expected.
I'm not really able to build hype around anything that was revealed, mostly because I'm cautious about the "idea" of content vs what is actually provided. I suppose that would make me a doomsayer for a few people.
On the other hand, I find it funny that, predictably, once content does seem to be provided, the whiteknights are in full force in trying to immediately antagonize any potential naysayers. I guess poking the bear is a universal past time.
I'm definitely not hyped per say, but I am taking the cautiously optimistic approach until we know more. 6.1 left a very sour taste in my mouth, so I will likely not be excited about anything again anytime soon as far as this game goes.I'm not really able to build hype around anything that was revealed, mostly because I'm cautious about the "idea" of content vs what is actually provided. People seem to be forgetting that this is one of the longest patch cycles to come, too. It's been 5 months. Of course there'd be 'more content'.
What he means is that content that is new to the normal patch cycles. here me out. We already know that we get a new dungeon always tied to the story, a new trial, etc. all we get is the same old things that no one is surprised about them, however adding the savage dungeons that we have been waiting for and after many interviews with streamers we finally getting this after they said they could not "implement" is something new that might help with the down time in major cycleNo, the variant dungeons are also new. for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
The only new content is the criterion and variant dungeons from the norm patch content to be fair, remains to be seen if these will be challenging/long lasting content howeverNew dungeon.
New trial.
New variant dungeon.
New criterion dungeon.
New criterion dungeon (savage).
New raids.
New savage raids.
And a lot of other things such as popular quests and a beast tribe.
New relics.
But I have no doubt people on these forums will find a way to say there is less content.
Oh I can see the party finders now for the savage dungeons. Pre-reqs. Must have top gear, best weapon, patience, die twice and you’re out, oh and certain log numbers required. Oh and only these specific jobs.
I’m excited for these party finder requirements. They gone be hilarious.
Anyway, that aside. I am excited. Been wanting harder dungeons forever now. Glad FFXIV is dipping their toes in it. TyTy.
