To paraphrase what everyone says in the housing complaint threads: you're not entitled to a relic. However, you can take solace in that at least doing the Hildebrand quests is possible.

emphasis added by meFeel like people are missing the idea when they continue to make comparisons to Bozja and Eureka. Bozja requiring just one set of raids (that should have been done anyway) from one expansion that can be done unsynced is not the same as having to sit through older side content (that doesn't need to be done, unlike alliance raids) from each expansion leading up to this one. Not to mention half of the player base doesn't even like said side content.
To bring up my point from earlier, I'm pretty sure the dev team intentions when tying stuff like this together isn't: "just skip the cutscenes" but probably the opposite actually. This is their hardwork and dedication that we're talking about, it's kind of like shooting yourself in the foot. The argument of "just skip the cutscenes" doesn't work for players that wish to feel immersed in what they're doing and not waste their time on meaningless jokey stuff. Keyword there being: meaningless.
Jokes and casual time in the game after all the fighting is fine, that's not the complaint here. The complaint is that not only do we have to deal with a crappy side quest that half of the players don't like, we then have to build weapons centered around ANOTHER piece of content that half of the players don't like. Half of us don't go to the gold saucer/don't enjoy doing anything there. "Cool characters" and "master goldsmith" be damned, they're not important to the MSQ and never have been. Why should I care about them?
All of this is on top of the fact that we're probably not getting another expedition zone, even if not everyone likes it there's still people that do. The game is only growing and getting bigger so there should be 0 reason why we need to drop content (that plenty of people participate in, mind you) to add more. Criterion dungeons and all of that stuff is cool but I don't think it should warrant the need to drop expedition stuff. "They need to manage their resources" well I'm one of those people that think since they have the money there's no reason why it can't be done. Hire more ppl, do something. Us losing content as the game grows and not getting enough in return is simply just not right.
Why should the ivalice raids be done anyway or alliance raids in general?
"Long"?
Oh I miss the old MMO community where people actually enjoyed playing the game instead of having everything handled in a golden plate.
I started back up in ShB after quitting early HW.
I skipped every last AR I could. Got the first ivalice raid and spent almost the full lockout wiping on it trying to start the relic, said "nope" and quit.
Now I *have* to do Void ark.
Bullshit.
Yeah honestly, I'm biased here because I love the Hildibrand quests, but I am soooo tired of every quest just ragging on Geralt for being drunk and useless when he's not being a brilliant crafter and having a crush on Rowena who clearly cares about him but like ughhh I like the characters but the humor just is not even a little bit funny to me anymore, I'd literally rather see Gerolt get his crap together as an entire plotline than deal with one more crappy joke at his expense at this point. Hildy's quests are absurd and ridiculous but they're infinitely more fun for me than that.i really don't see the reason why people think a legendary blacksmith that so far allways delivered on epicness factor of weapons paired with the greatest goldsmith in the land that has shown to be perfectly capable of producing normal looking artisinal pieces would hand us some gaudy joke weapon as anything but maybe some early stage joke stuff, especially as square is well aware that the long term value of these weapons is for glamour.
also on people arguing on the seriousness of the quests themselves i have to wonder if they ever paid attention to the other relic weapons.
aside from shadowbringers gunnhildr stuff literally half the questlines were repeated "look at that bald bum gerold, he is so fucking broke and a complete drunkard" jokes. oh and he is soooo fearfull of rowena, lets laugh a bit more about him. heck, arr relics in particular was the culmination of two drunkards working together and among other things dipping the freaking thing into rum.

If you say that having to do Ivalice was not as bad because you should have already done it: The exact same can be said for Hildibrand. If you had already done them when they came out you would not have to do anything new to unlock this questline when it drops.Feel like people are missing the idea when they continue to make comparisons to Bozja and Eureka. But just as people have not done Hildibrand, others have not done Ivalice.
Ivalice is also more than just a few raids (and I am not really sure how much you can unsynch them) because it also has quite long cutscenes. Someone on reddit did the Hildibrand quests on an Alt character to see how long they take and she needed around 2 hours. So 2-3 hours max if you skip the cutscenes. I really doubt that Ivalice is much shorter. Heck I believe that with the raids themselves you can take much longer too, especially if you have to wait as a DD.
About the expedition zone: Only half of the existing relic questslines have them. Just because we had two expansion in a row with new zones for it, does not mean that its something that we can realistically demand for each one afterswards. It really depends on what the devs have planned. This expansion we will get our own big private island. That alone is a zone itself. On top of that we get new dungeons with different paths. There might have simply not be enough time left to also make new zones for the relic quests too.
And there is also a chance that they simply looked at the numbers of people doing the old relics in those zones and decided that the money and time is better invested in something else. After all its only content for a rather small amount of players. (And people really did not like Eureka, at least here on the forum...but if I remember it right the Lucky Bancho also did not show great numbers too)

Ivalice doesn't 'need' to be done, it's entirely optional side content like Hildibrand is, you either do it or you don't, there is no consequence. I didn't even touch Ivalice until after it was announced as being a requirement for the relic.Feel like people are missing the idea when they continue to make comparisons to Bozja and Eureka. "Half of the player-base doesn't even like said side content" is a very bold claim that you are making and one I would go out on a limb to say you don't have a shred of substantial evidence to support this.
Man, I may be one of those gosh darned zoomers but I'm willing to sit through wipes in Alliance Raids multiple times over doing a quest chain I'm really not interested in. It's why eventually people were weaned off of Job quests because they were forced onto people so much. Questing outside of MSQ is unengaging for me, but at least Eureka/Bozja had combat content in between.

Jesus Dude just do the damn thing and stop complaining.
Skip all the cutscenes and it will be done in a few hours.
You're complaining about people complaining... "Jesus, stop complaining, dude"!
What's with that tone? Need an afternoon nap? Jeez. I won't be doing it because I already had little reason to do Relics. Am I not allowed to say "wow, that's a kinda silly decision"? Oh, oops. I'm not.
