Hildibrand for relic? Really?

My main issue is, they know a lot (or at least a reasonable amount) of people don't like Hildibrand, given that they took the step of not locking trials behind it (admittedly they removed that because if people don't want to do it they probably don't care about the trial) so then if they know that people really don't like it (I for one can't stand that kind of "humour") so to force that on people, regardless of cutscene skipping, just seems like a dick move to me. I think I'd rather skip the rest of the expansion, than do Hildibrand, even with cutscene skipping.

There are 4 duties, 3 dungeons and 1 trial, you need to do to finish the current quest line. I'm personally hoping we get another this go around along with emotes and a dance. 3 of those dungeons you can solo unsync. The trial you need 3 given there is a chaining mechanic that binds 2 players.

its still 4 trials, there are no hildi dungeons.

The thing about not locking trials behind it was for the HW and SB (at first) ones, because there were complaints about that, but then there were MORE complaints when they disappeared, so they gave us the 70 one.

First off, welcome to the forums!

Second off, I don't think anyone is being forced to do anything. All relics have always been optional content and this is no different. No one actually enjoyed farming light either in ARR and HW but people did it anyway and they took the feedback and changed it. Then Eureka and Bozja offered different experiences, but people had a lot to say about those too and now they're taking a different approach. I for one took long breaks from the game in the middle of Eureka and Bozja and unlike ARR and HW's relic quests, I felt like there wasn't a good enough catch-up mechanic and I'd struggle getting those done without a dedicated FC or Discord so I haven't finished those yet.

I think we should wait until we know more before making reactionary posts to the forums since the decision has already been made at this point. If it genuinely sucks then I think the feedback will be more important since it will be coming from a larger amount of people.

But I do think it's funny that people comparing elements of the EW MSQ to Hildibrand don't seem to have even done Hildibrand...
