I loved the relic zones so we'll see how this goes. Doesn't sound like we're getting any and I think that was actually stated by the team although I don't have a link. They haven't expanded on it yet and hopefully we'll learn a lot more with the next live letter. The way relics usually go is they're part of some questline, but then they have you do a bunch of random odds and ends to get parts for it. Run raids, dungeons, FATEs, etc etc until you have enough of the part, then hand it in and the weapon is created. It being attached to Hildibrand likely won't mess with the formula, but you can expect to see some funny designs and possibly a goofy cutscene when they make it.
This is a bit of a concern to me too, but I don't think they're going to be honestly.
It's not only Hildibrand, keep in mind that Gerolt is still involved too.
My guess is that they're not going to be '' clown weapons '' but moreso majestic and all golden and stuff maybe.
I think the design theme they might be going with is something like '' masterpiece ''.
I don't think it'll be like the Saucer weapons or anything like that.
Many people enjoyed Eureka and Bozja. The latter was cut short artificially despite being planned to be meatier - so I don't think that qualifies as 'fair'. Especially not when more and more of the game is increasingly steeped in inoffensive, wacky humour.
It's a matter of balance and I hope they can manage to maintain it.
Stop trolling. Relic weapons have been stronger than current content, only second to savage weapons.
Just so we all know how those kettle quests work: you do relic first, learn some lore for Zodiark Braves, and only after the relic is done you have a meme quest about a kettle.
What we have now though, you have 4 DLCs of not-every-one's-cup-'o-tea humor to get to the start of relic quest.
This is what I'm expecting. I mean, look at the kettles. Yes they're a bit silly but they also are visually impressive. We can expect no less from Gerolt and Godbert is a master goldsmith. I'd love if they brought Jalzahn back into things, too. This is a bit of a concern to me too, but I don't think they're going to be honestly.

And many people enjoy Hildebrand, its ok you don't like it. Again, that's fair, its your opinion. The ARR Relic Quest was just as silly (still love my relic kettles for monk!) so I think it'll be fun to go back to that. Many people enjoyed Eureka and Bozja. I agree there needs to be a balance. It's a "wait and see thing", no point in speculating I suppose.
Here's hoping. When I hear about relics I'm thinking about something powerful, no matter how it was introduced. If they make the relic steps funny but keep the designs acceptable, then fine, so be it.This is a bit of a concern to me too, but I don't think they're going to be honestly.

All I'm seeing is 10 pages that demonstrate how the target audience and playerbase has shifted away from what originally brought me to this game. This is just disappointing.

Agreed. I'm also concerned we will see more of this seep over into the MSQ again, because I am not entirely sure Yoshi is going to scale back from 6.1 when he thought that was the "limit" of what they can take it to. At the end of the day it means the expansion will involve less world-building of interest to me, if it adheres to the usual Hildibrand tone. Many people enjoyed Eureka and Bozja. Never forget, "tiny minority".![]()
