I love how people complained that Eureka/Bozja was an awful relic grind and they should do something else.

Now we're back to people complaining that it's an ARR/HW type grind.

I wanna ask, what EXACTLY is wanted from a relic grind because it seems like some dont actually know.

I do remember how much Eureka was disliked here (I was part of that crowd. Its the only relic I never finished) but Bozja was a bit more well received because one could do the relic outside of it. (At least for some parts...) In the end though those who dont like the Endwalker relic might not be the same who complained about Bozja and Eureka in the past. We do have different groups of people here.

For me though I like the ARR and HW structures way more. Some of the grind like the books would have been fine if instead of having a certain fate we would just have to grind a certain amount in a certain region. I just like that you can get your relic by doing the various amount of old content the game has to offer. I really hate it being restricted to one new map because most of the time its bascially just fate grinding with a new name.

So for me lets return to the relic where you are bascially "forced" to keep old content alive. And not tuck it into its own little corner with no touching points to the rest of the game.

To be fair, the hate for Bozja isn't really about the relic for the most part. It's more about how the content has absolutely no future-proofing to speak of while requiring multiple large party instances to fully complete. So for anyone trying to catch up on it now, you either go outside of the game to find a group, try your luck with Party Finder, or you're just kinda SOL.

Yeah, that was one of the biggest issues with it being the way it is. Sure, if only a few people are in those instances the stats are massively boosted, but it still isn't quite enough to make it doable for anyone who comes along later to do it.

Eureka wasn't much better, the FATEs don't seem to scale as much as the Bozja stuff, and you still need a crap ton of crystals just for one weapon. Last time I tried to do some Pyros(a few weeks ago), the three times I tried going in there were 3-4 other people, and nobody was outside of the settlement.

If collecting 1500 tomestone is "ARR relic grind", please, do the ARR relic first then come back so we can have a real talk (and you'll not even have the true experience from 9 years ago so...)

Speaking for myself, Im glad I don’t need to go through more unnecessary and tedious grinds. There’s a reason why I don’t have bozja weapons. Doing fates over and over to get a crystal isn’t what I call peak gaming either, so if I had to choose Id choose this over and over.

Agreed - I'll take variety in what content you play to obtain a predictable, guaranteed, currency over grinding FATES for Crystals, which are not guaranteed to drop anyway.

To be honest, I'm kinda expecting fate grinding will be back come next step or 2. Especially for SB and ShB zones maybe.

Oh it's going to be Stormblood Fates for sure. You know, so we can't grind bicolor gemstones as well.

I actually really liked Bozja because you could level, get tomes and grind for gear alongside the relic.

I also loved Eureka, but I understand why people don't want to grind a set of zones that is entirely separated from the rest of the game.

The only things I specifically didn't like with relics were running every single dungeon in order with the relic equipped and light farming.

Yeah - I mean, I'm not saying I dislike Bozja in itself but, so far as grinding for Crystals is concerned, the fact that they were not a guaranteed drop and you could do numerous FATES without actually receiving one, is really frustrating and I do prefer being able to obtain Relic items via predictable, guaranteed, 'currency'.
