Hildibrand kept me on the edge of my seat. Better then MSQ and more likeable characters...and the WoL actually does stuff. Happy camper I am.
Hildibrand is..... a thing, yeah. But you know what the real sin is?
The new relics being an ARR-style grind. Once upon a time, the near entire community loathed this manner of relic acquisition process. Wonder what changed?
Oh, right. Endwalker happened and suddenly no matter what, Yoshi-P became an infallible god overnight and literally nothing ever went wrong with FFXIV ever again.

Huh? The new relics is just "Spend 1500 uncapped tomestones" which doesn't seem like an ARR style grind at all. If anything it's too little.Hildibrand is..... a thing, yeah. But you know what the real sin is?

need you be reminded, last relic chain in ShB started the exact same way with having 1000 tomestones to buy 4 Thavnairian powders for the base weapon (the first one you get was actually a freebie).

You mean Arr.
This invisible God-Complex that seems to be attached to him started in Arr, where he Saved the game from being completely Tanked by the Original 1.0
Yeah. "Saved" the game. That was years ago, the goodwill is no longer valid. But hells, watch me laugh amongst the flames as his recent design decisions tank the game like the WoW of Eld that he so idolizes.
Au contraire, I'd argue that they HAVE won and have since been winning for time immemorial. Even when its arguably undeserved. What with the leagues of defenders at the ready and in reserve no matter how badly they cock things up and how it's virtually a cardinal sin to say anything bad lest the Eorzean Inquisition catch wind of one's heresy. In other words....no matter what, they cant win.
-They do something: People complain
-They try a new thing: People complain
-They try something completely new taking in feedback: People complain, saying how its locked to 1 system and its slow
-They retry it, taking in feedback allowing more paths to goal: People complain, say they liked old way
-Do something else: People complain it should be like last time
No matter what, they cant win.

Kay, you have fun with these weird ideas you have about FFXIV and YoshiP, and Ill go back to playing the game.
Its not perfect, nothing is, but the game isn't tanking or going like WoW. I think thats just Hyperbole people like to run with just because they dont like things.
No! No fun allowed! XDKay, you have fun with these weird ideas you have about FFXIV and YoshiP, and Ill go back to playing the game.

I mean it sounds like any style of content, there's tons who liked it and tons who hated it. After two expansion of exploration content being tied to relics it's not surprising people find the older format refreshing or at least different.Hildibrand is..... a thing, yeah.
