Different people find different things meaningful. I enjoy the comedy, although it's certainly far easier if it had been done as it came out rather than all at once.

See this is the issue. These stories *are* meaningful and involved enough not to skip. They're wrapped in comedy, but they have world-building, memorable characters, and sometimes make some pretty pointed commentary about the cultures in the areas they're taking place in. I'm not going to point out specifics because a lot of people are going to be discovering this soon and I don't want to spoil the surprises. But the HW line alone without the comedic trappings would be pretty heart-breaking. And it was a nice homage to the central side character referenced in it.
Some people can't get past the silly and that's fine. They don't have to. But to say that these quests aren't meaningful is doing them a disservice. It is not just the comedy that makes people love Hildibrand.

This has done nothing to convince me that Hildibrand would do more to add to the world's lore or have a more intriguing story than Corvosi or Lunar relics. If they have the audacity to tie those locations into the Hildibrand storyline then the only thing that would be a disservice is the mishandling of both locations.See this is the issue. Okay so really your whole argument boils down to that they aren't doing with it what you think they should. Maybe they're saving Corvos for MSQ because it is significant, rather than relegating it to side content. This has done nothing to convince me that Hildibrand would do more to add to the world's lore or have a more intriguing story than Corvosi or Lunar relics. Some ppl like Hildibrand, some don't. I haven't touched one of those quests in years! Not sure whether they were being actually serious about this or not, but either way it's bad form to require such an absurdly long questline to be completed before we can do this expansion’s relic. I don’t even think Ivalice is as time consuming, and at least acts as a skill check on the playerbase.
Just why?

Hildibrand is a humor check on the playerbase
Edgelords and murderhobos can get off the ride here
