Also yes. If I didn't clear by then I definitely intend on using whatever stat boost, no matter how small, which can help me to clear both EW Ultimates and that includes relic weapons.

Not only that but DSR was originally planned for 5.5 so many people did farm the Resistance weapons in anticipation for that.
And people will farm the Manderville weapons because it will eventually become BiS for DSR, but also the 6.3 ultimate and probably any previous ultimate.

If that's the case, then you're not the endgame player I'm thinking of when I see endgame mentioned. You're more of a casual.

I think both your definitions of "casual" and "not needed" are huge stretches.

I really feel like the weirdest responses to this are "omg the hildibrand questline is so long" like ok super maybe you shouldve been keeping up all these years? But also we have until August to get it did and its really not that long, its just 98% cutscenes and involves 0 grindery.
Also you should do hildibrand quests anyway bc then you can unlock the scholasticate questline which, on top of being very well-written, unlocks a great glam and the /glassestilt anime cliche emote for all glasses enjoyers.

It's not often that I get the chance to speak in defense of Hrothgar as they were implemented in-game but Bozja did a lot to redeem their racial lore in my eyes. Instead of brutes and miners they were shown to be cunning and capable of sophisticated political manipulations and cruel betrayals. I dislike Bajsaljen for his ideals but I can respect that they went out of their way to make him a doctor of sorts along with other resistance members who weren't just "strong lion men." If Misija had actually been a female Hrothgar the storyline would have been all the better, but she made good use of the screentime she was given.

The Hrothgar race would have been underserved had the Shadowbringers relic decided to focus on Manderville-level nonsense. Instead, they were fleshed out and given a firm place in FFXIV's world. If only the Corvosi could have been afforded similar treatment. Oh well. Carry on.

The Bozja story really just cements a) how little the devs care about hrothgar and b) how evil every non-au ra/viera/hroth race is.
Point A) no hrothgar gets to do anything besides be canon fodder in the story. We dont get to save Dabog, we DO save Lovro but hes still somehow tempered despite detempering taking 4 seconds any other time, Baj and Marsak more a naziass traitor instead of their fallen comrades.
Point B) not a single villain in Bozja (or anything having to do with Garlemald) is a non-Eorzean race. Plenty of Miqote, Lala, Roe, and Elves saw Garlemald round up civilians for hypertuning experiments and a "one race" philosophy and said "oh that sounds super!" but not one Au Ra or Viera works for Garleans and all the hrothgar who did were conscripts due to occupation of their homelands (Bajsaljens notes even state the national race of Bozja couldnt marry without Garlean gov. approval!) or were kidnapped and experimented on (Dabog).

People tend to forget that Godbert is supposedly one of the best artisan in all of Eorzea and this method is a easy way to get weapon contest winners designs out without having to make similar thematic weapons for other classes.

But for the questline humor is highly subjective and is highly understandable why people are quick to be cautious of this line.

To me, this questline could go one of two ways.

One: the typical Hildebrand experience

Two: Syndicate route elaborating on the Syndicate role in new Ul'dah

This. People forget Godbert has shown up in more serious situations. I'm fuzzy on the details myself (it's been a while), but I think Gold Saucer employees are mostly Ala Mhigan refugees.
