Hildibrand for relic is just... not good. My issues with it holistically:
1) I don't like the idea of forcing every end-game player to go through the worst written and most bigoted quest in ffxiv(Specifically Heavensward Hildibrand, not Hildibrand as a whole)

BIGOTED?! I have no idea what could have gained that kind of accusation but alright.
-why is this 50 pages? Surely pressing 'skip this cutscene' isnt that hard...the quests are quite short. The dungeons were fast and easy and some even had cute drop rewards. Like..huh?? You guys wanted to Bozja instead? Is that what I'm getting from all this? How is skipping some cutscenes worse than Snooze-ja

2) It's bad form to make new players go through four expansions of an optional sidequest to access progression content.

My personal issue aside from the above is that I'm pretty confident this means we're getting gaudy, hideous weapons because gaudy and exaggerated is what Manderville stands for. But meh, that's not a big deal - I can just glam over it. Also... I think it's a real shame to not leverage ANY of the fascinating expert craftspeople we have in Endwalker that are story relevant who have unique and amazing visual styles for this.

Besides the Relic not being end game raider content, They had us do Bozjan for the last one, the most insulting quest chain in all of Final Fantasy, one that caused me to hate a player race in it's entirety. If I could tolerate that insufferable quest, you can skip cut scenes on happy silly slap stick.

It's not often that I get the chance to speak in defense of Hrothgar as they were implemented in-game but Bozja did a lot to redeem their racial lore in my eyes. Instead of brutes and miners they were shown to be cunning and capable of sophisticated political manipulations and cruel betrayals. I dislike Bajsaljen for his ideals but I can respect that they went out of their way to make him a doctor of sorts along with other resistance members who weren't just "strong lion men." If Misija had actually been a female Hrothgar the storyline would have been all the better, but she made good use of the screentime she was given.

The Hrothgar race would have been underserved had the Shadowbringers relic decided to focus on Manderville-level nonsense. Instead, they were fleshed out and given a firm place in FFXIV's world. If only the Corvosi could have been afforded similar treatment. Oh well. Carry on.

I need to cut you off right there because there's something people seem to forget about relics. They're not actually end-game. They're always a step behind savage weaponry. Not since Heavensward has Savage content even been a requirement to progress.

X.55 relics are always BiS for the whole expac. And relic weapons are actually used as TEA BiS for certain jobs (if not all).
So the idea that relic weapons are entirely disconnected from high-end content is simply wrong.

Did people actually wait from TEA (5.11) to 5.55 to get their BiS weapon to clear?
