Took a break for the day and I come back to people being ok with the relic being turned into joke weapons and Gold Saucer being part of the grind. So savage is where I should go to get a serious weapon then. For now anyway.

Yeah and he tends to be sided with more sane characters in the relic quests, Gerolt is just the odd one they pick since he is considered the best blacksmith.

ShB was no different, the Bozjan leaders just picked him off and that's it.


Now I am very curious how the Mandeville work with Gerolt, Godbert is stupid rich and talented so the EW Hildibrand quests really gotta set something off, joke or not

No with the way that I see things going and the lineup of upcoming releases I think it's probably best that I just leave when the Crisis Core remaster comes out and just not come back until things here get back on track, if they ever do. Who knows even Diofield Chronicle might actually provide a better story experience than whatever this is heading to.

I just have a genuine question, who decides this type of things?I know is side content, (which I don't really see it as side content when it comes to equipment imo),but how they decide that this is correct course of actions? do they have polls? japanese players feedback? Let's not lie to ourselves ....our side is not taken into account.
Maybe Yoshida sama is a big fan of hildi quest line....
After what happened with black mage , this is a possibility now...

out of my (european) static 2 people don't give a fu**, 1 cries about it but says he will still do it while skipping the story and 5 totally love the thought. considering bozja bored me to death (both the content and the story, i'm not saying it is bad, it's simply not for me) even if everyone else was on board with bozja being "good content" that still wouldn't really be a "better" result than what hildibrand offers.

is that way to small a sample size to make some universal judgement call based on that ? totally, it absolutely is.

that however goes both ways, we (humans) tend to hang out with like minded individuals, just because you hate hildibrand and a substantial amount of your buddies agree with you that doesn't say anything about actual majorities, so who the frick is "your side" ?

i would take literal bets that the actual majority of players doesn't give a flying roundhouse kick about what the relic storyline is, there are people that just want the weapon for the item level, others the glamour, people that will take whatever they can get out of the story that don't really mind if its serious or just plain wacky. people that actually like the grind and people that want the glowstick to show others how much they liked the grind, and thats even ignoring the part of the playerbase that would never actually do the relic because they know allready that they lack the time for this kind of commitment, for these people tying hildibrand to the relic actually means square has now wasted less time on content that doesn't interest them and instead worked on interesting stuff.

The idea is different, however forcing us to do side content for the relic is bad idea. I like my relic quest and side content being appart from each other. Only to boost popularity of side content who got maybe a decline after ARR,HW or SB. Give a tap of the sholders and say "SEE OUR CONTENT IS GREAT SUCCES DUE OUR PLAYERS DO IT!" is disgusting. Worst part is the relic as no area attach to it. They should just release the relic in this patch with basic story for the start and let hilderbrand do is thing.
