Hildibrand for relic? Really?

what does tying it into hildibrand have to do with grinding bozja ? you think the relic won't have a grind ? or is it that it won't have a eureka/bozja grind, which is most likely correct, but also 100% independent of the fact it gets tied into hildibrand. if anything it will most likey have a tie in with the variant and/or criterion dungeons. heck, as long as say high level criterion dungeons would be a way to accelerate getting the relic compared to whatever the alternative is this would be the first time where the relic actually would reward challenging yourself, staying in bozja for hours was a lot of things but surely not challenging.

yeah i dont understand the mentality at all. they will happily spend hours/days/weeks grinding more materials, but spending a couple hours on a side story questline is apparently too hard. let's face it, they are just complaining for the sake of doing so, but at the end of the day they will swallow their pride and do the content anyways because they see a shiny weapon for a job they like.

Hildibrand isnt funny, and I might just skip doing relics entirely this time around. This is a huge turn off for someone that just wants to do battle content and skips most of the story/cutscenes.
God forbid this game have any challenge, complexity, or any sort of grind or time commitment in it anymore, apparently bozja and eureka were too hard for people.

Devs are now pushing out updates to every 4.5 months, forcing people to do old side quest content as 'busywork' by requiring everyone that wants a relic weapon to now go through it.
I dont care if i can skip the cutscenes, thats still hours of my time teleporting around and skipping cutscenes I shouldnt have to do. Disrespecting my time.

Complains the game isn't challenging and has no grinds (which the later is objectively false) yet disregards the actual challenging content that was JUST talked about. Also no challenge, I take it you just sweep through Savage, Unreal and Ultimate yes? Cause if not then that point of yours hold no merit.

Hildy has been around for years and god forbid they bring old content to relevancy (like many have been asking) in an interesting way (imo ofc). We dont even know much about what this will entail yet yall still have pitchforks out. Also you're ALWAYS teleporting around in xiv so how tf is that NOW an issue? You want grinds yet have issues spending time doing quests. Which is it? And sorry but who is making you do anything? You have the choice and the freedom to either do the content or don't. And for Bozja to just be "to hard" I wonder why there's pretty much always people in there doing stuff.

True, good storytelling too. I did not enjoy the Ivalice raids. Yet I know others did. So what should SE do? Always let old content die? Create a completely new storyline that has no ties to anything old that may also not be liked by everyone?

No, we can't

We complain about a stale and rigid formula, wherein the developers are too afraid to bother deviating from the said content formula. When they elect to deviate from it and try something different. We then subsequently complain and throw our toys out of the pram because it cost us a dungeon or an exploration zone for them to deviate.

I am fine with people complaining about something. Just because something is different doesnt make it good. I am fine if someone says that they are a bit sad that they have to do Hildebrand for it. (But at least they can skip the quests)

I am a bit baffled that people are already trying to judge the content itself. Content which we basically know nothing about. (Only the requirement for them to start) If the storyline turns out to be purely slapstic humor with horrible weapons and more then complain. But putting this content down before it even released...yeah thats a bit much.

I liked being able to do relic quests while those who enjoyed Hildibrand got to have their questline and I could ignore it. I don't understand why you're forcing me to do both.

I don't find his content funny and no I don't think its fair to say "skip the cutscenes if you don't like it" when to be completely honest, they shouldn't have been combined to begin with. I get wanting people to try out his questline, but those who wanted to HAVE.

This same complaint could be used for Eureka, for Bozja, for having to do the Ivalice raids for the ShB relics (and thus unlocking Bozja), for having to do the Void Ark alliance raids for the newest Tataru quest (which y'all are VERY silent on, btw, you damned hypocrites) etc etc. The devs do this all the time, and the fact that people are complaining about the EASIEST content to get through this time is beyond stupid to me. I'm really starting to wonder if y'all are just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point.

I didn't even DO the Tataru quests(couldn't really care about them), I don't know why you're lumping me with this.

And no, I'm not complaining for the sake of complaining. What? You think I'm going to ask for them to change it? They already made the decision to go ahead and their stance is "if you don't want to do it, skip the relic quest" as is many people's here. My point is, we shouldn't have to make the choice in the first place, they should've been separate.

As for ShB's relics the only thing that was meh imo was the initial step of getting the weapon.

I don't like Hildibrand I think his brand of humor is garbage. But other people like him and that's fine, we have different tastes.

It also depends how far we need to go into his questline as well.

There's too much we don't know even if my current decision is a pass.

As it stands, yes, it is actually making me consider if I want to skip out on the relic this expansion I dislike him that much.
