Hildibrand for relic? Really?

Hildibrand has been going on since ARR and it's been side content since then. It's ridiculous to try to and make 10 years worth of content mandatory for EW relics.

This is (IMHO) a terrible design decision. Hildy's humor is extremely subjective and is completely unenjoyable to a lot of people.

The entire questchain is a bit too long to lock stuff behind... It's one of those quest chains that was more reasonable to do as it got updated... But going through the entire thing from start to finish for newer players does take a while.

And there are people who don't like Hildibrand as well, so yea. Not really a great decision.

I never did any of the relics for the story so I don't mind. Glamour is the whole point so if Hildy weapons look good I'll get them.

Is there no Eureka/Bozja area this time? I know they age rather poorly, but I did enjoy both when they were current.

I had skipped every ARR Hildibrand cutscene on an alt with a friend, that alone was 4-6 hours (I know it was greater then four hours but I forgot the exact time) with healer queue and giving up finding anyone for second trial and just going to our mains and carrying the other. ARR Hidlibrand is really fetch questy even with cutscene skipping.

I don't know, I recall skipping it a couple of months back and it didn't really take me long at all. I can certainly say it wasn't longer than 4 hours. I think Stormblood took me around 45-60 minutes to finish. Maybe I'll try later on my alt.

But was your endeavor on doing it on an alt pre-flying or post-flying? The former definitely going to take considerably longer than the latter. Regardless of this though, the relics are designed to be a grindy piece of content, and honestly if people are already being sent to their knees by the requirement being Hildibrand then I argue they probably won't make it very far in the first place.

They haven't said yes or no to it yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the open world instanced zones in favor of a new deep dungeon for this expansion.

Relic is side content too. If you don't like Hildebrand but want the weapons, just skip the cutscenes. It's not difficult content and wouldn't take that long.

That team is probably 100% focused on the massive Island Sanctuary content and making sure it works.

The heck? Hildibrand quests look awfully overrated and tying powerful weapons to a clownfest is just weird.

Why not ? As much as i love hildibrand being it's own thing apart from anything else, i'm looking forward to this !
