Itemization is very varied and allow for custom play man, i wish there was less random stats on gear so i could start to be less confused about mah fixed job whatever i'd like to play !

Sarcasm aside i would really like they add a mode where you loot more randomized gear stats, even if stats are normalized in savage raiding, just for the fun of destroying world monsters one punch man style, in any other Final Fantasy you are allowed to make your character stats completely bonkers, it lacks some element of that super dumb fun.

Alliance raids, though those have mostly been nerfed, minus Nier to some degree.

    1) The ability to play every single job on a single character is a HUGE draw for me. All the achievements on a single character, all the mounts, minions etc etc.

    2) The value for the sub fee is pretty good.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

My endgame is collecting things. I don't go out of my way for FOMO items and cash shop items but if it's in the game and I want it, I'll get it.

Things I've done so far in Endwalker (that I remember):

All quests and normal mode duties
    Unreal every week
    Ex trials
    Custom deliveries
    Tribal quests
Housing lottery and redesigning my yard
    Bicolor gemstone farming
    Leveling alts
    Hunts and rare fates
    PvP malmstone grind
    Making gil
    ShB ex mount farms
    Farming minions from 87/89/90 dungeons
    Crafting
    Trusts leveled to 90
    Sightseeing log
    Glamours and screenshots

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

Late to this party since I only check the forums every once in a while, but I'm sure restating things everyone else has already listed can't hurt.

I also mostly got into it and play it because it's a Final Fantasy game where I can play some of the classic jobs with a custom character. The fact that the story, especially in Shadowbringers and Endwalker, rises to the challenge of being worthy of that series, really helps me stick around. I remember getting through Shadowbringers and telling all my non-playing friends that it went from "better story than other MMOs" to "a great story on par with whatever your favorite single-player RPG is."

In that same vein, I really love it when they get a job feeling "right" despite the crazy constraints of a balanced MMO with fairly strict combat roles. I frequently cite Red Mage here, it's really cool how they managed to get it using white and black magic and swordplay despite having to be a "ranged magical attacker."

I also like all the crazy references to other FF things as well as stuff from the entire run of the game. Like I think it's great that Gunbreaker uses "soil" charges as a reference to FFU even though very few people know or care about it, but I also like it when you see NPCs again from like six years ago in the story, or how the Endwalker ending trusts you to recognize people from their voices or speech patterns.

There's also just the fact that it's...somewhat alone in being a mostly subscription-based MMORPG in 2022. Back when everyone was trying to copy EverQuest they were all over the place, but a lot of things that MMOs first innovated are now part of other, more exploitative games, and most other MMOs are also using the free-to-play model if they're still around. Maybe this doesn't sound super positive, but as someone who's always had one MMO to play for around 20 years, there almost aren't any other options, this is it!

And finally, I know that not a lot of people agree with this one for various reasons, but I really like their dedication to making things accessible to most players while still providing high-end content for those who want to enjoy it. This is a complicated topic for video games in general, trying to make things that are challenging while also letting people who don't want a challenge enjoy them in their own way. And I feel like they've done as good a job as anyone with FFXIV; in particular, I really like the way they separated "normal" and "savage" 8-person fights since 3.x.

Slightly deviating off topic, but well said! I was in tears by the end, that raw power and emotion from everyone involved.. my goddess the feels were real (and they even managed to get none other than both Susan Calloway and Amanda Achen to sing as well!)

And this is an unofficial fan production!

It drove home just how much I love this game.

No, not just a game. Hydaelyn/Etheirys is a living, breathing world in every way, a community we all share, from Yoshi and his development team to all of us players. This is an experience we are sharing together. Forging ahead together indeed. Well done indeed to everyone involved with that video!

    My WoL.
It's the only reason I keep playing the game when the battle content is lacking ( like now). I just take another job and work on glam/weapons until I'm satisfied.
