My thoughts on the attire is that people are going to pay a lot of money to look like everyone else. It's their money though so if they enjoy it then that's all that matters.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
To be fair, people spend a lot of time for the Archfiend and Elemental armor so that they can look like everyone else too rofl.
It seems like a lot of people go for specific sets. I can't remember the last time I saw the aiming or casting Elemental armors, but I see the fending set regularly. The maiming set slightly less often, but definitely more than casting/aiming.
seriously "breaks immersion" aint no npcs dressin like player characters or using the sds as a mount or whatever else.Ya know....I cant really say your wrong. Id also just like to throw in that no matter what the reasoning, if your looking for immersion in an MMO, your already fighting a loosing battle. It wouldnt matter if every single piece of glam was a purely made set of authentic looking midevil armor, someone, somewhere, is still going to dye it hot pink and run around with only the head and chest on wit no pants, gloves, or feet. The moment you allow your experience to be influenced by other players, you have given up immersion. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
If you wanna wear trash ARR gear forever to "blend" in cutscenes better thats fine but it aint hurting the game to have not crap attire in it.
Half of all final fantasy main titles are quasi-modern and ALL ff have schizotech.
FF1 Tiamat dungeon was a floating space station in the og release, a giant robot tries to nuke the world in ff4 if scifi or modern shit breaks your immersion so bad you ain't been paying attention to the series this game so religiously references or straightup rips off.
To be fair, they'd just hide your ears like they did with miqo.It would sure be cool if the devs would stop screwing over hrothgar and viera out of gear!
If a hroth or viera wants this set they're paying extra for gear they cant use.
A little asterisk saying "we're too lazy to make paid content work for you" is really not cutting it when you don't offer players alternate options.
If they aren't going to make hats work then sell a separate set at reduced cost thats hat free.
For petes sake they aren't even making earholes for gods chosen race anymore theres 0 excuse to not make brand new stuff not work for hrothgar or viera.
SoE didn't do anything, it was run into the ground by Daybreak, then Darkpaw.Which is funny considering XIV seems to only get away with their Bamco tier cash shop by just keeping the game around. Personally, I wish they would treat XIV like XI. Although I doubt SE has the sense to do that. I'm expecting them to run XIV into the ground like SoE drove EQ2 into the ground, lol.
It's a bit disingenuous to compare games sold vs a game with a subscription. We could put current sales of a game vs how much XI has made but I doubt even re-releases of VII will compare to the lifetime sales and subscriptions of XI.
How is this thread 15 pages long?
You have it set to show 10 posts per page, which is the default setting. Go to your profile, then to your settings, then to your account and right next to that will be the "Number of Posts to Show Per Page:" setting. Set it to show 40 posts per page and save changes. Now you'll see that 15 page have shortened to 4.
Still baffled that Viera and Hrothgar have been out for more than 6 months and I'm pretty sure it didnt take them more than that to come out with this attire yet it still doesnt work on all races. That right there should tell you all you need to know about either they dont care or the problem to make them work is so severe that its 6+ months development time to fix.
