Almost definitely tied to the floods, and a stopgap for a bunch of people not being able to log in on materia at all, but I really do wish they'd say something about it. Even if it's just letting people know they're aware of the issue and that ping will go back to normal at some point.

Happened to me multiple times tonight. Got on played for like 10 mins, got logged out, Tried several times only to get 2002 errors on multiple data centers (light, materia, etc), waited 2 hours, managed to get back on, 10 mins later another 2002 error. I just got a new gaming PC too and was excited to play on a decent setup.

I know the login error has been fixed but their solution is to route all Materia traffic via the US (tracert shows route via 129.250.3.218). This is why we have a ping/lag of 200ms or greater.

I setup a VPN with Mudfish (FC member recommended) and when I turn it on I have an average ping of 14ms to Materia DC & no disconnects!

It's crazy that gamers can work out and implement routing solutions in a short amount of time and our NBN administrators are still scratching their heads.

Been 4 days now and the ping is still 155ms minimum.
Its odd my ping is the same as connecting to Elemental DC but the server I am connecting too is 5 hours away from me...
Still no updates... I'll give it next reset and post again, hopefully todays maintenance on adventurer plates may also let any server and connection repairs needed to be done while offline.

Doing some routing work, seems routing is all over the place for anyone who does not live in Sydney, me for example living in Wollongong (1hr South of Sydney) and i get 170ms, tracert the ip showed it was going to Sydney then to LA back to Sydney. Thing is it is only FF14 that is giving me these problems and nothing else, WoW and Discord for example are not showing the same problems and those servers are based in Syndey too. Others I know have been routed to Sydney then Perth back to Sydney, sad thing is Kajuta is only giving me 120 ms and thats based in Japan.

Sydney is giving 134 - 150 ms and is being routed to the US.
