CC Ranking System: MMR, placement matches, and rank decay

The only thing I want is to be able to get all the achievements for lower ranks.. To get bronze now I'll have to basically not play ranked till season 5, and that border with (v) on it probably gonna look pretty good for diamond/crystal and would be a waste to give it to bronze.

Also since there is no decay or de-ranking, they can just make the ranked achievements automatic once you reach them. It's plain stupid how many old Feast systems and caveats they kept around...

Not sure if the rank decay between the seasons is a good idea with our current ranking system.
Don't get me wrong. I like it and i'm happy to skip the entire re-climbing but there are some issues.

One is based on the lack of demoting. Over time playerpools in certain tiers become a huge and wild
mix of all playerskills while others tiers will dry out and the amount of potential playes becomes smaller and smaller.
(And from what i heard but also experienced by myself is an already big difference when it comes to queuetimes and pops)

Another issue is the advantage that a higher starting-tier can give. #1 on my DC's first day scoreboard is already at 2900 points.
This probably comes along with the first mentioned issue. (Higher Tiers -> faster pops, so more advantage in points - Less satured lower tiers -> slower pops -> getting even further behind)

Ya I was back into crystal after about 16 matches. The ranking system is whatever.

I'm late to all this but oh well. I really like cc and play a lot, but I just don't get the ranking system. I was rank Gold 4 star 2. Won 3 matches in a row and ranked down. Won another. Just doesn't matter. I don't get it lol. It's kinda annoying.

Yeah, I agree, and it doesn't even seem to matter how much I win. It would be way better with a system that didn't rely on just winning matches in a row etc. Terrible ranking system.

Well, now they're making it so you can get demoted out of diamond and crystal completely, claiming the intent was to make people "try harder" which...I don't think was actually a significant issue outside of crystal and more people just not playing well in general.

You could now, in an absolute worst case scenario go all the way from diamond 1 to platinum 5 if your luck is terrible which has the potential to make climbing absolutely miserable.

I personally thought it would be a plus to some people. I mean, there were threads complaining about the state of how Crystal games were being played....what do I know though? I'm just looking up from below.
