If it's how you're coming off, I mean...And given that this is scheduled maintenance, they couldn't adopt a more customer-friendly practice of not scheduling them on a day that coincides with a big holiday for a large portion of their player base? Hardly the first time they've done this, and won't be the last I'm sure. But clearly, I'm the jerk for calling them out on this.
Go blame the people that made the 4th of July on a Monday.

Unhappy with how they implemented Mahjong? -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/381358-Mahjong-is-the-most-depressing-mini-game-you-ve-added-to-XIV

If they needed to aknowledge every holy day in every last country, that would be a mess... You're not a jerk for calling them out, but that's just bad timing. They just don't care, not because they hate 'muricans, but simply because the 4th of july is a Monday and they need to patch their game for the patch release on Tuesday. And given that this is scheduled maintenance, they couldn't adopt a more customer-friendly practice of not scheduling them on a day that coincides with a big holiday for a large portion of their player base? Why THAT Tuesday ? Probably because the patch wasn't finished yersteday, and because I'm pretty sure if you told people "Nah, no patch until next week because 'muricans need to play the game on the 4th of july", we'd have far more people crying about it on the forum.
If it's a holiday isn't that a good excuse to go out and celebrate? Go to a restaurant, meet up with friends, venture out for a bit of hiking or a run through the forest?
How many patches, in the history of the game, have been on holidays for other countries? And how many of those people have actually complained about it?
A day away from the game wont kill you.

this is a gamer holiday for us so everyone be sure to enjoy it .
Not sure, don't have a count, but definitely more than once on both. Clearly won't kill me to have a day without the game, but it also wouldn't kill SE to consider such things when scheduling their maintenance patches.

Why do you think they don't? It just might not be the "consideration" you want.
For example, they might prefer to have a patch come up July 5 instead of July 4th just to avoid the massive load on the newly-patched possibly-buggy game that would accompany new content being released on everyone's day off.
Uncool addition to my "quote" as I think I've made it quite clear that I'm down for them not pushing a 24 hr maintenance on a major holiday of any part of their service region. Why do you think they don't? It just might not be the "consideration" you want.

As for the rest, wouldn't scheduling the week after accomplish the same thing?
