If they needed to aknowledge every holy day in every last country, that would be a mess... You're not a jerk for calling them out, but that's just bad timing. They just don't care, not because they hate 'muricans, but simply because the 4th of july is a Monday and they need to patch their game for the patch release on Tuesday.

Why THAT Tuesday ? Probably because the patch wasn't finished yersteday, and because I'm pretty sure if you told people "Nah, no patch until next week because 'muricans need to play the game on the 4th of july", we'd have far more people crying about it on the forum.

Not sure, don't have a count, but definitely more than once on both. Clearly won't kill me to have a day without the game, but it also wouldn't kill SE to consider such things when scheduling their maintenance patches.

Why do you think they don't? It just might not be the "consideration" you want.

For example, they might prefer to have a patch come up July 5 instead of July 4th just to avoid the massive load on the newly-patched possibly-buggy game that would accompany new content being released on everyone's day off.

Uncool addition to my "quote" as I think I've made it quite clear that I'm down for them not pushing a 24 hr maintenance on a major holiday of any part of their service region.

As for the rest, wouldn't scheduling the week after accomplish the same thing?
