I got all my points back by queuing up and not getting the griefers on my team. This game rewards you with worse and worse teammates as you climb, it's actually insane.I agree. I hate dealing with them, and frankly believe that such players do not belong in ranked (they should be required to spend more time practicing in casual to understand gameplay basics.) But like I said - if you are good and you are *consistent*, you will climb.
Didn't Ni Xi drop like 3000 points or something? And now he's been locked into #4 for weeks. Consistency of performance is the key factor, even moreso than raw "skill." If you can always produce consistent results, you'll win more games than you lose. Like I said, I've had times where I've dropped 2000 or more points, but I gained them all back and then some, just by being consistent.
If you mean the whole class changes, yes please, I miss when pvp was actually enjoyable. Ironically when they ruined it is when they added rewards to it.
If you mean CC vs Feast, idc much.
The new pvp is the only reason I'm subscribed. I do hope they will add group queueing, and other modes/maps, but definitely I enjoy this much more than before. I've been looking for mmo-style pvp for a long time since I've been bored of wow and gw2, and ffxiv's new pvp nails MANY things. Yeah the matchmaking is essentially nonexistent, but I don't care about that. I'm having fun every day. Nearly every class is fun, nearly every match is exciting. Sometimes you get one where you stomp it get stomped, but that's fairly rare. I don't want to say other people here are wrong, everybody likes what they like, but I for one am loving the changes.

Yes i hate how my Monk is actually enjoyable to play in PvP now after all these years of being a dumpster fire.
Journey to all fish: 1383/1729 (348 remaining) [79%]
I feel like Monk could still use some tweaking. Maybe tone down its BS insta kill LB combo and give it better sustained damage. Also, make Earth's Reply automatic like literally every other defensive skill in PVP.
MNK has literally the highest sustained DPS in the game. If you don't force them to break combo and peel them, their DPS will dramatically outpace anyone else's over time. That's why MNK is so vulnerable to being interrupted, by the way.
I do agree that Riddle of Earth should automatically pop. I'm not cool with their primary defensive cooldown being effectively negated by just stunning or silencing them at the right time. Not when Macrocosmos pops automatically, and will pop even if the AST is dead.
The solution to MNK insta-gibbing people with the combo is to just give everyone +5000 HP. Burst damage is already a bit too high relative to HP pools, and will probably be worse in 6.18 due to SE's apparent tendency to boost potencies more than anything else. A bit more HP (a bit over 10% more HP for casters and healers, a bit less for everyone else) will go a long way towards addressing that.

nope, next
I agree, but pvp in xiv is a pretty bottom of the barrel activity anyway. It's a pale imitation of pvp in other mmos, which are actually responsive and well managed. Very little carry potential by design and so the main method is just zerg rush and hope your opponents arent trying. I'd love to get properly involved with pvp here, but it just feels bad compared to other games I've played. Kudos to anyone who bothers to make a thing of it. I do daily frontline but that's the most fighting against the netcode I can handle
