Multiple characters at once?

I have the game on the PS4 and the PC and I primarily play on the PC these days. My nephew, however, has shown an interest in the game. Is it possible for him to play on my PS4 and I use the PC? I tried to create a character on the same server using the PS4 while I was logged into my character on PC and it didn't let me finish. Is it completely not possible or is there something I have to do in order to do it?

On the same account? I don't think so. He'll need his own account of he wants in. Till then he can borrow yours till he wants to commit but he will have to restart. Better to have his own if he has any intention of sticking with it.

You could put him on a free trial for now. It'll have limitations, but you will be able to invite him to your party.

No. You cannot be logged into the same account multiple times. If you want to play together you'll need a second account.

you need to buy each expansion on each console, but you can use both on the same account. all 3 if you want to count Mac version

He would need to be using a separate service account if you intend to play at the same time.

As for character creation, SE will enable/disable character creation at 20 minute intervals if the current online population for a world gets too high. If it tells you the character cannot be created on the selected world at that time, save the appearance data and wait a little while before trying again.

As SnowVix said, it's possible to attach PS license to a service account that already has a Steam or PC license. That way you can use either platform to play your character.

What players can't do is attach a PC license to a service account with a Steam license or vice versa.
