Maybe you can watch some clips from YouTube before making a decision. If you start from DRK, it begins from lv30 or you like GNB, it’s lv60.
Most ppl will strongly recommend you to do PLD or WAR in the very beginning I guess.
I'd say Warrior is almost objectively the easiest tank to pick up and learn. The self-sufficiency it has for leveling content is pretty unparalleled, and all of its skills are, by design, straightforward and easy to use.
I would try Warrior. It has a simple rotation and mainly consists of hitting buttons on cooldown.
I don't find Paladin that difficult, but I know some people that do. It has a strict rotation that doesn't vary so it's mainly memorizing what order you need to hit things.
I find Dark Knight and Gunbreaker have a few too many buttons, and Gunbreaker can be a bit weave spammy once you get Continuation.
Warrior is the easiest tank and also the best tank. Not biased at all.
WAR is the greatest.
Depends on what you like the most visually or lore-y I'd say!
The general gameplay and rotations are similarish across the board.
So give em am all a try!
Tho if you're cool, you'll play Gunbreaker and cosplay Squall! :3
I'd say WAR too. I didn't advise it as much before because the cone aoe made pulling clunky, but now that's fixed so it's the easiest for sure.
I don't find DRK as complicated as people say, but it is the more "paper" tank so there's that, when you're learning through dungeons.
PLD is my favourite but it's more complicated.
Both of the tanks that are available from level 1 are easy to pick up and learn. They don't get that much harder going into the late game, either. If anything, the harder to learn tanks are probably DRK and GNB, with DRK being the one that is the most difficult to play due to having a lot of bloat in their kit. Gunbreaker is fun and sort of plays like a melee dps / tank hybrid, though it does have some rather interesting "clipping" issues on some skills.
I would say paladin is the more accurate tank experience in terms of survivability. Warrior is just broken for anything that isn't end game since the damage done in normal content is so low, that self healing without having to surrender any attacks makes them almost too good at their jobs. However, a lot of this depends on keeping gear up to date.
