How much dev time is spent on housing?

I look at the new furniture, ginger bread walls, and all the other stuff they add and wonder why they put so much effort into it.

Not complaining. Love it. Love the variety and overall quality of housing decorations. Can always use more but at the same time...

Who is this all for? What percentage of players own houses? Take all the housing on every server. Are their more plots than total Viera and Hrothgar players? Why isn't that same care and effort put into actual playable races that ALL players can engage with if they choose. I don't have to enter a lottery for a chance to play Viera. Can apply this to all races really.

In general it seems housing customization is quickly outpacing character customization and that does not make sense.

Housing seems to be the largest issue so they at least want people to have options for whenever the issue is fixed?

furniture is easy, a lot of it is stuff they had to make for the cities and towns and dungeons anyways. It's also very popular, furniture design contests are a big hit event every time

Also, every FC house has private rooms for every member to decorate and apartments are free for all. If you want a private space to decorate or invite friends over to, you can have it
It's just one of the most popular things in the game so it get's attention

the thing is we dont know how much effort goes into housing vs everything else the devs are doing, for all we know housing could just be 1 or 2 people, square doesnt tell us the how many devs they have working on the game and who is working on what project

since square doesnt tell us how many people are subbed to the game its impossible to know what percentage owns or can own a house vs how many people play but i'd guess its around 15% of the playerbase (depends on how you define FC houses is it owned by the FC leader or all FC officers or the entire FC) as for who this is for well its for people who own houses, it may be a small percentage but those that do own a house are still entitled to have new furnishings and other stuff, housing would be boring if we didnt get more options for customization

last time I checked, furniture doesnt move. so no need to make sure it doesnt look all janky, clips or can wear gear. but feel free to think that the devs working on character or gear development dont apply care to their work.

also I doubt that the people doing characters or their gear, work on furniture. furniture can be made external to the team as it were and then the models brought into the game.

probably very little time, honestly.
Making a new housing zone and wards might be harder and timer consuming. But making furniture?

The devs adding new furniture and such doesn't bug me because people make some incredible stuff with housing and I always think it's cool. What does bug me is when they give away outdoor furniture for event rewards and I have no way to use it so it ends up wasting slots in a retainer's inventory. :P

My braids clip through many many many many armors. I doubt they care about that.
